To my mind, making Prostitution legal, with defined constraints where necessary, would eliminate the illegal trades.

It would eliminate most of them. However, there are still those who want little boys and girls, and will pay for them. This most disgusting form of prostitution will continue and will always be illegal, even if it becomes legal for consenting adults to have sex for money.
