Artwork and Images - To Catch A Fancy

g likes Escher, I have never been a fan, apart from the cleverness of the work , undeniable, it seems also, perhaps contrarian of me, also limited. I am odd, I know.

Not odd, simply a matter of preference I should think. Cleverness aside, I have a certain affinity for pencil work (owed to the extent of my own limited abilities most likely ), which contributes to my appreciation for the likes of Escher, Doré, and this one by Dürer

Also, just basic: London and Venice have such different flavours, and for me n the paintings they are primarily 'caneletto' flavoured. I do not mind a darkness so much as a .....sameness.

For the same reason...I dislike chocolate in things where it doesn't belong, not everything needs to taste of. Go collate every day. Sometimes things should taste of something else, it makes even the chocolate things better, the absence.

Is this too Elle logic ( I know choclatification of the world is a recurring theme for me) is a recurring theme for me?

You'll hear no arguments from me about the flavors of different regions, especially considering I've never been to Venice. I follow your logic easily enough, and wouldn't dream of dismissing someone with whom I've barely spoken's opinion when it is articulated well ( regardless of " Elle logic " lol ). Rather, how about a request for something you feel conveys your own view of Venice or London instead?

It's too bad you can't find anything that perfectly encapsulates the way your view, though I suppose it might be a bit of a letdown if you did. Though I am certainly grateful you took the time to try, Monet is always welcome.

I also really like that Danish ( second from the top ), the green of the water that matches the awnings :D

I'm usually not down with modern art (unless I say.. "Down with modern art!") :p but I didn't immediately look at that one and go.. Bleh. That's a good start for me! :D
It actually looks a bit... edible!

^^^^ wow. Really interesting painting NSM.
Thanks for sharing.

Is this some little known version of the keys in a bowl party? :p
It's weirdly intriguing, that's for sure.

It's called " The Lovers " by Belgian surrealist, René Magritte. That's my favorite of his, but this is one of his more recognizable ones.
