I use to. I don't do any of that anymore. I've even removed my picture post. You should be able to get a model for about $250 - $300 an hour, it just take phone calls and make sure that you get them to sign a model release form. Write that you are going to use the pictures for everything they can possibly be used for, and be nice and remove photos if they ask you to, even if you don't have to.

And this began as paint and colored pencil, but it's a photoshop artifact now.

I got started smoothing the pencil texture with the smudge tool. There was excess yellow, just as there was in impy's figure, because I have a limited palette of pencils and the image looks different on a screen than on paper...

I thought that piece came out really well. You managed to get a picture that looks like it was really well done with pastels or chalks. The woman "pops" from the background without looking like she's a foreign object in the scenery. It's probably good that you stopped where you did.

I was just curious as to your process.

As far as generating images based on photos, I start by duplicating layers, doing a gray scale, adding a filter, and then using the threshold to find the edges.

If you are looking for images to practice on try http://www.thehun.net they screen, so you won't get pop-ups or other things that might embarrass you. They are pretty safe to look at.

I made an action before, but you have to do too much eyeballing to use it. For instance I use 124 in the threshold, but I might have to go up to 127 depending on how many lines I get.

Literotica is full of corruption. Not only that my stories seem to mysteriously attract sex scenes, now even my sketchbook is getting pornographic ! Well, there's not much I can do about it, so I'll just draw and post when finished.
Meanwhile, I marvel at the other artists' pictures. *sigh* Me want that talent too !

working from life, from memory, from imagination, from photographs.

pencil, conté...watercolor...
those PLUS photoshop...
straight CG?

I find thta sometimes my best work is NOt labored...but on other pieces it does improve with "fussing"


edited to add: OH! and will we critique? or just showcase and ooh and ah. We can leave critiques on the erotic illustrators and writers thread....? thoughts?

Those aren't bad ideas at all. I'll go back and edit my posts to add in techniques used and what came from my imagination and so on.

I put an open invitation for critiquing at the beginning of this thread. I'd like to see that become one of the points of this thread so that artists will challenge themselves to improve their work and style.

I hope the people who chime in and offer words of advice, likes or dislikes, will do so intellegently and not just chime in to say a piece sucks and offer no rhyme or reason why. That kind of crap doesn't help an artist in any way.

I had come across this photo in a magazine and thought that was incredibly sexy. I had been wanting to play around with doing B&W illustrations as I had been, but also while adding in a color element. This was the first. The skirt was done with Prismacolor artist's pencils but the shading on the skirt was done by using the same soft-lead pencils as I use for just B&W work. I just used the soft lead right over the top of the green.

I am curious what you are workingon currently as many of your work has been dated ,id 90's...or are you posting Up to the present chronologically?

Not really posting in any particular time frame or order. These are some illustrations that I held onto over the years, mostly because they were experiments with styles, shadings, colors, etc. Currently the erotic artwork that I do is commissioned work for specific imagery, private collector type stuff, except the collectors tell me what they want to see. I don't keep scans of those works, so I'm unable to show them here.

I have one illustration currently sitting on my table that I am doing for myself as a two-part set. That one is still some ways away from being completed, and I don't plan to show it until its companion piece is done, so it'll probably be a while before I have something brand spankin' new to show publically.

This is the one I've been really working on for a poster in my office. I just got a 18x24 pad, but I don't know about how much detail I should put into it.

Originally, I was going to have her hand gripping his hard-on and his right hand cupping her tit. I am still leaning that way, but she needs some decent shoes first.
