I don't agree with everything in this article, but some of it is right on, I think. I also do not think this applies to all people who are against the war, just some of them. Found it at EHOWA and thought some of you might like a read.

Amen, brother!

The attitude displayed by the author of that article is just as disgusting as people vomiting and assaulting people for "Peace".

Yeah, I agree his/her tone was pretty uncool in my book. It was almost too emotional for someone that was trying to come off as "I'm more educated and I'm showing everyone who you all really are".

But, I did like their use of articles to back up their story. Unlike others I see making baseless conclusions (pulling shit out of their ass and pronoucing it gold). How reliable those new sources are... well... I don't have time to track that down.

But it is important to note, he's just voicing his opinion just like those people that are calling for the death of our soldiers are doing (note: columbia professor wishing for a million Mogadishus).

What is more important to me, as I've tried for the past two months to discuss my opinion, (which does not include calling for the death of our soldiers, and I do have immediate family who are in Kuwait and Iraq now as of last week.) Calmly and without screaming, calling names and having a holier than thou attitude about it, while all I've met from opposing views is a really stank fucking attitude. This article included.

I'm beginning to become bitchy and snide about it, because nobody wants to listen to calm, friendly discussion of opposing views.

I know my opinions and views aren't better than anyone elses. Too bad 99% of both sides don't realize this as well.

Wow. Give a Jingo a keyboard and he'll claim that everybody who isn't Pro-USA #1 "We can do no wrong" is responsible for the deaths of people and the scum of the Earth.

I had no idea.

I have to tell you that I think the author of that piece was right the fuck on!

It's all these precious little rich boys and girls who denounce corporate America then rush into the Gap or Hot Topics
to find the latest must-have item.

I have observed before it is the very same "Lexus Liberals"
who will whine and moan about how the war is all about oil,
but look at the big ass, gas hungry SUVs that they drive.

Who will be the first to complain that the US should "do something" when we have a 1970s style gas shortage?

I wish that they would have been able to start drilling in Alaska, so we could reduce our dependance on oil from a very unstable region.

None Dare Call it Treason

I agree with the Article 100%....

They are vile,dangerous,un-American and treasonous..

When anti-war protesters break the law and hinder the war effort like the ones in Oakland, they should be tried for treason and hanged....They are the enemy within.....

I support Bush 100% and the destruction of Saddam Hussein....

I'm damn proud to be a Hawk.............

I'll take Adolph Hitler and Eva Braun's long lost grandson for $1000, Alex!

Well what the fuck, why didn't anyone tell me that I was rich and owned a Lexus? And here I was all working my ass off to pay my bills and hoarding my pennies to get to college.

Wow, the latest batch of newbies sucks ass? Are we importing straight from the white power websites now, or are these just walk-ins?

The only thing about that article I found agreeable was the author's stand point that people who believe (from the sign picture) that killing officers, or any US solider for that matter, is not only acceptable, but should be promoted as disgusting hate mongering slime.

Fuck that. You can support the troops without supporting the war. You can protest the government while respecting people who risk their lives for us. People join the military to protect their country. They don't get to decide how they do that. Fight the government, not the soliders.

Other than that, the story was no different than any rant offered here on a daily basis and not as well written.

Uhhh... sunstruck did you just say what I thought you just said?

You promote soldiers turning on officers and committing cold blooded, premeditated murder?

Both of my parents are retired Army officers and both served in two wars. I have to draw exception to your statement. This statement pretty much just lowered you below the unhuman Rambling_Rose in my book. You can be proud to know that there is actually someone out here that holds Hanns in higher regard than you. Your viewpoint is not only misguided, but down right delusional. IMHO of course.

I hope you re-think your viewpoint.

OH my GOD NO!!! That is not what I meant at all. Thank you for realising I probably mispoke myself and giving me the chance to reword my post. No. Really. You didn't jump the gun at all.

What I meant was I agreed with the author in thinking that people that would promote killing US military soliders of any rank are disgusting low life's who are too blind to see their own hypocracy and evil nature.

Good deal. Thanks for clearing that up. Was a shock to read, to say the least.

How could you read my second paragraph and not realise that? Or did you bother to finish the post?

And Rambling Rose is one of the best people on this board. Hell, she's one of the best people anywhere. You know NOTHING about her.

Dude, pick me up, too. My daddy'll let me use the beach house in the Keys. We can fly there on my Lear Jet.

Sunny, he couldn't have finished your post, or he would have realized that it was a typo and not gone off into his little hissy-fit.

Well, your post did not use each paragraph to back up one argument. The first para was mostly nonsense to me. Then you make that bold statement in number 2. Followed by a more reasonable, more articulate, somewhat more passionate and emtion filled, 3rd para. Followed by a quip about how lame posters here are in number 4.

So, none of your paragraphs connected to one another. Yes, I read the whole thing, but I only had a problem with para 2.

I guess I need to have my tally wacker spanked because I just assumed you thought out your post a little bit and then did at least a minimum of a quick read over before posting it. My bad.

A question, P.B.: What part of the article did you think were *right on*?

Frankly, the whole article sounded like it was written by "Ed Anger" of the Weekly World News.

I don't wanna go anywhere near you tally whacker, but you have been here WAY too long to acuse me of proof reading.

Oh, and if you had trouble understanding my post all you had to do was ask. I've taught several toddlers to read I'm sure I could do the same for you with a little more time and patience.

Mmmm... well the start and finish were not exactly things I liked nor agree with. But the middle had merit, IMHO, of course. Basically this part:

And your view of this war is illustrative of who you really are. You echo the Iraqi propaganda minister's every words. You would rather believe the words of proven liars rather than those from the free world. You're a bunch of walking, second rate slogans without merit or shred of reality.

Peace is not a bumper sticker, tie dyed T-shirt or hand gesture. It is something which comes from the great sacrifice of the few so that many more can live better live in the future. But what would you know about sacrifice? I see who you are. Most of you are young, un-showered, un-disciplined, unemployed and overrated. It seems that the vast majority of you come from well off households and attend elite Universities. You hold anti corporate hostilities but wear the latest gear from Ambercrombie & Finch. Everything you have came from the system you rage against.

And speaking of peace, the song "Give Peace a Chance" never liberated an oppressed peoples nor was John Lennon a great diplomat that ever softened the hearts of Pol Pot, Saddam or KIm Jong-Il. But since you people get your marching orders from Lennon songs, here's one I believe in. "Happiness is a Warm Gun."(bang bang, shoot shoot) Freedom has always come at the end of a warm, smoking gun. America's freedom and subsequent Constitution resulted from war as did the freedom of slaves. Most of Europe would speak German and reside as German satellite states if not for American guns. Bosnian Muslims, collectively, would have been relegated to fertilizer if not for the guns of the US. Your silly banners, T-shirts, bumper stickers and hand gestures never aided anyone's liberation.

And what's your obsession with Communism? Are you so out of touch with historic reality? Or do you have an sadistic romanticism with murderous rule? Marching behind the banners of the Socialist Workers Party while holding signs that equate Bush to Hitler is obscene. Standing together with an organization that supports Kim Jong-Il lends no credence to your argument that a war In Iraq will take innocent lives. You obviously support the taking of innocent lives as long as it's not taken by American soldiers.

And what about innocent lives? Saddam kills a truckload of Iraqis by the time you awake in each afternoon to your breakfast of granola and hemp juice. Get a clue.

But most of you are adamant about Bush being the king of evil in this world. Of course, that is, until one of you are forced to deal with actual reality. Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor, went to Iraq as a human shield. Once there, Joseph was quick to learn that Iraqis were praying for the war. They said that they were willing to get their homes demolished if it meant the end of Hussein. Joseph said, "Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head." Kenneth Joseph now supports the war. What a surprise.

And where were you fleebag laureates during Kosevo and the bombing of Iraq by Clinton? Where were all the "die-ins" and "vomit-ins" and Clinton=Hitler signs? You hypocrite. I guess as the great foreign diplomat from the Improve, Janeane Garofalo, said "it just wasn't hip" to criticize Clinton. Janeane is so illustrative of leftist hypocrisy. She verbally assaults Bush for this war but was the host of an event which Bill Clinton was the guest of honor, at a fund-raiser for Seeds of Peace. This after the former Clinton administration mercilessly bombed Kosevo and Iraq, all without UN authority.

I think it was best put by Collin Powell when asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our Iraqi Plans were an example of empire-building by George Bush, while at a large conference in England:

He answered by saying that, "Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return."

Cheers
