That's really nice work in color there. Guessing pencils, as that's what it looks like for the medium. Did you do that based on a photograph or while sitting out on the beach with a live subject?

The wings have gotta be the best part to draw. I love to watch such a large part of the picture develope. They're fun to play with and mold. That's a big reason I draw mythical things. There's no actual skeletal or musculatory definites.

Eyes are the same way... You can change them to mean sooo many different things. A slightly different angle and you have a totally different feeling in the picture.

I totally agree. I love to see things emerge on paper. Gives me a sense of satisfaction. I'm primarily a chalk pastel kinda gal, but have been dabbling with oil paint and watercolor.... not necessarily pretty, but I'm doing it anyway.

That's a good point on the eyes. Plus, even shadowing them in slightly more you can change the entire look and feel.
