Then once again you've baffled the panel. What was your suggestion?

You're either joking or you have a serious reading comprehension problem. Halo, really, give up; I know how to agree to disagree. The amount of contests on this board won't thwart me from starting art-related threads. I was simply giving my opinion on the question that was posed by the thread starter.

Ya ask a simple question and just get shit for it ...

I propose that the board only have one contest every month. I think it is slightly excessive as well, but I feel it is more appropriate than one contest/week.
Okay. Restarting from a very simplistic point.

Why do you feel this is more appropriate???

Hmmm...

In the immortal words of Inigo Montoya, "Let me sum up."

MW: "I think the idea of hosting one contest/week is excessive for a board that only has a small group of members, and for a board that has the word "art" in its title. Sure, art is something different to everyone, but I take art somewhat seriously and the thought of having one contest/week in an art community is discouraging. I can see where this board promotes creativity through trying a new medium or subject. However, is one week really enough time to produce something truly meaningful?"

H&H: "You prefer that the artists here should take longer periods of quality time to create greater quality works that would be more worth while to present in a so-called 'contest.' "

MW: "I don't think this board has a meaning that most won't understand. I think the general theme of this board is quite apparent with the number of threads dedicated to contests. Sure, one can learn many things from contests and from interacting with like-minded artists, but it is disappointing."

H&H: "You also believe that because there are so many so-called contests in this particular forum that the quality of the forum has been somehow lessened or cheapened. . ."

MW: "Isn't that a bit excessive? I believe this is the type of board that could cultivate creativity and thought-provoking discussion. Why clutter this board with so many contests that really don't promote anything other than winning and/or discouraged artists?"

H&H: "In short; you believe that quality time + quality effort + plus less frequency of so-called "contests" = greater quality forum for all persons involved either passively or directly."

MW "...continue to put words into my mouth! It's funny."

... You killed my father. Prepare to die.

I get what you're doing. Unfortunately, just like the meaty one, you're leaving out details.

Now, if Meat could answer for herself, that would be ... effort?

Yeah, just getting a bit pissed off by the holier-than-thou attitude and insults to my friends.

Cool. Then tell your friends to speak for themselves. All of mine can and do.

Right. What's your suggestion for the forum?

I've realized this definitely isn't the type of "art community" I want to be part of - you've turned this from an enjoyable debate to just plain childish.

Ya ask a simple question and just get shit for it ...

1.) I have a job that requires my attention and it is far more important and fulfilling than posting on an erotic board.
2.) You didn't get shit for asking a question. You were given an opinion and I'm sorry that you feel everyone should agree with you. I would hate living in a world where everyone wanted things the same exact way.

Halo, please don't send me PMs that are antagonistic or otherwise insulting. It's rather disrespectful.

As later stated by me (though you decided not to include it), I think meaningful works can be created in one minute or in one lifetime. You missed the entire point and once again, proved that people can pull anything out of context and use it to prove a point. Well done.

Did I say this board was cheapened? No. I didn't. Please show me where I used the words "this board is cheapened by the amount of contests". I simply said I found it disappointing.

Again, did I state that quality time + quality effort + less contests = greater forum? No, but please, keep trying. :) I simply said it wasn't my cup of tea, nor did I flourish in a contest-rich environment. It's not what I'm looking for and it doesn't interest me. Case closed.

It's not so much that you don't understand English as you're taking things out of context and not including details that would be important to the argument. It was a great effort and while I appreciate your attempt to prove my opinion wrong, again, I can't say I'm going to change my view on things.

I feel that there is an excessive # of contests and that's an insult? Grow some thicker skin. It's a matter of opinion and just like assholes, everyone has one.

Its not a contest-rich environment. After all of your banter about others choosing to not understand you, you still don't understand that very simple little concept.

Contest is a word. Its not the right word by any means, but its the word that got used. Everything you're saying you'd like to see in this forum is part of the reason that the "contests" were created in the first place. You're saying that the contest frequency is not appropriate for any reason is only showing that you're severely missing the point(s) of them. Points that all the other artists are getting out of this. Points that are incredibly similar to what you're saying you'd like to see in here.

Tell ya what; go here: https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?t=407906&highlight=contest
After the rules read what little got said as to the purpose of the "contests." Let me know your thoughts afterward.

Fair enough?

I'm stepping out for sponge cake and strawberries. I'll check back in a bit.

Your opinion has nothing to do with your insults.

Words like "please" and "gladly" don't hide the rudeness behind your remarks anymore than the smilies you tend to sprinkle among your posts.

And that's my opinion.

You really don't want to read - I said I didn't care if you understood me. With that said, I completely understand that these contests are really challenges (I think that might be a more appropriate word since you were looking for something better than contests. ;)).

Actually, this thread was about contest frequency and I commented with my opinion. I find it highly amusing that you (general) are trying to change my opinion. I think it's great that the community likes the frequency of contests; I don't. Simple.

If you don't care that you're understood or not then why bother posting to begin with? Once again you've ceased to make sense. I'm deleting my subscription to this thread and going to bed.

Good evening ladies. :rose:

I responded to this thread because the question was posed about the number of contests and I had an opinion to share. It makes perfect sense to me.

I shall have a lovely evening (morning here), thank you. :D

I asked her submit her art. If not in the odious, non-serious contests...then in a Gallery of her own. I PM's her, to which she has not responded.

I understand, acknowledge that she has a differing opinion.
In fact, the poll (from "ages ago" :D ...yes in the rhelm of the bulletin board a month is ages) 6 of 11 disagreed with me (and 4 others) on the frequency of contests.

and you know what?...I went ahead and added a tweener contest :p

I did something.

and you know what? if people hadn't participated they would have died away.

I suspect they probably will.

and you know what, Meat Whistler? You have only posted on this ol' thread (it had 3 knick nack patty wack give a dog a bone) and have yet to post your own "serious" thread and you have declined to post you own gallery. You have implied that you create art, but have not shared any...nor, as far I know, commented constructively on anyone else's.

Maybe she is scared that we may say something not so nice about her so called 'art'!
Too bad she didnt realize ahead of time we folk are not like that. Constructive advice, no sarcastic comments allowed!

High 5 on the tweener DG, now let me go find it!
