Art contest anyone?

is this a thread challenge or a contest where the moderator makes a poll voting thread for the contest? (they will ya know) either or, Ill watch for the ingredient and begin my doodle, monday>> due by? <7 days> submitted?
I guess its a thread challenge. The winner will have the option of starting a new thread with the same art contest in it, but with a new secret ingredient chosen by that winner. Its more just a friendly competition than anything.

Double check the rules that I set at the beginning and let me know if you have any questions.

I was wandering around the site via the various art threads that I've collected in my sticky thread above, and it dawns on me, "How about a Literotica art contest?" Hhmmmm ...

It needs a twist ...

How about a Literotica art contest a-la Iron Chef ... well, in a way.

Once we have a good number of artists who would like to participate, to keep it easy we'll say two or more, I'll anounce a secret ingredient that must be in the each artist's piece of work (Since I'm anouncing the secret ingredient I will NOT participate).

..........

The rules:

The secret ingredient can be tangible or intangible.

Both erotic and non-erotic submissions will be accepted so long as they contain or convey the secret ingredient.

Photographs may be used for reference, but any photographs used must accompany the final piece of work.

Each artist who enters will have 7 days to complete and submit his or her piece of work. Only one entry per artist will be accepted.

All mediums are welcome, including photography.

All submissions will be e-mailed to me and I will post them in this thread for judging (along with any photographs used as reference material by the artist). PM me for my e-mail address, artists and photographers only, please.

All of the judging will be done by fellow Literoticans who will PM me with their votes. Simply PM me the post number of the piece you like the best, and that will be your vote. Only one vote per Lit screen name will be accepted. No vote may be changed once cast.

Once all submissions have been placed I will announce that its time for the voting to begin. The voting will take place for no more than 7 days with all the results being posted at that time.

The winner of the art contest will begin a new thread and choose the next secret ingredient once an appropriate number of artists have chosen to participate.

..........

Basically this will be a fun way for the artists here to push themselves, their skills, and their limitations, and the their fellow Litizens will get some cool new material to look at. Its a win/win deal.

So, discuss. How do the rules look? Any changes, additions, subtractions? Anybody give a rip?

still sounds like my cup of tea <grin...
I'll scribble a doodle after I hear the ingredient and count me in <grin

Cool beans, babe. Good have you. :rose:

Is it still too late for me to enter??

Not sure, but time I branched out - maybe some artistic inspiration will kickstart my writing again.

Its not too late. As a matter of fact I was about to go post a "last call" in the other threads I started to advertise this one.

Wow Halo this sounds absolutely fantastic idea.

I'd be down with this very much so, also gives me a sort of break in moods inbetweeen my right up.

Like the idea of the winner just thinking up of the secret ingredient, and should make it the winner cant enter, choosing and all he/she would have the upper hand.

You're absolutely right and I get the feeling that I haven't made that clear in any way, though I'm sure it would be a common sense matter to deduce. I'm not participating in this one because I'm the one that thunked up the secret ingredient. While I'm sure that others could easily cheat their way through this by creating an alt, I'm hopeful that no one will.

I'll add it to the rules for clarification.

Will there be a formal way of entering the competition or just have to put one piece of art in the 7 day time frame?

And yeah to be totally impatient when will the ingredient be told and will it be in a seperate thread?

The secret ingredient will be announced late this evening or early tomorrow morning (Pacific Time). I chose an ingredient that can be a noun, a adjective or a verb. Basically I wanted something with a high level of ambiguity so that all of the imaginations involved could really play with it. This is not to say that every ingredient that gets chosen will have to be this way, its just the one that I chose. The secret ingredient does not have to be the theme of the piece, it can simply be in the piece. The secret ingredient can be tangible or intangible. For this first contest I chose something that can be both.

ALL ENTRIES must be e-mailed to me and NOT posted in this thread independantly. This is basically just to begin the judging process at the same time for everyone who enters. I'll post them and the judging will happen for the following seven days.

I set up an e-mail address specifically for this. PM me for that address now or when your entry is ready for submission. ALL entries must be submitted by next Sunday evening (Feb. 19th, 2006) so that I have the time to get them all posted.

I have set up threads in other areas of Literotica advertising this contest. As the judging period nears I'll be using those threads to solicite anyone and everyone to participate in the judging.

And the secret ingredient is ...

Alright everyone. I busted up the tendons in my knee pretty good this weekend and the hydrocodone is starting to hit me for the night. I don't know what my morning schedule is going to be like so I'm posting the secret ingredient a little ahead of schedule.

Remember: PM me for the e-mail addy to send your submissions to. DO NOT post your submissions in this thread or they won't be counted as submissions for this contest.

All submissions must be to me no later than nine pm (Pacific Time, USA) this next Sunday (Feb. 19th, 2006) so I will have time to get them all posted for judging.

I chose a secret ingredient that has a good deal of ambiguity to it, but at the same time it sparked off a good number of images in my imagination (I wish I could compete in this one because I really had a couple of very cool ideas), so I hope it does well for yours also.

The secret ingredient is: "fan"

Have fun everyone. Good luck.

Cool - I'm in, then. We'll see what I can come up with using a digital camera and Photoshop. :D Haven't played with PS in a while, should be fun.

Good luck with the knee, Halo. :rose:
Thank you kindly on both counts. :rose:
