Are you worried about Ebola?

Conspiracy theories are quite in vogue on Lit lately. So far this week, we've had Toubab, Vetty and Ishmael muttering darkly about conspiracies.

And what conspiracy is it I've theorized, Bob? I'm interested in learning about this.

I haven't seen Rense in years. I remember it mostly as a clearinghouse for 9/11 Truther insanity.

Here's a few Stock Tips:

You're more likely to be shot to death, but we as a society seem to be fine with every moron carrying a gun - so the screeching about some not-exactly-super-contagious disease seems a bit, I dunno, stupid.

Turn off your fear-mongering TV news for a bit and read some good books. You'll be just as informed - maybe even more so - and feel a whoooole lot better.

I've had the flu a dozen times but surprisingly, I've never been shot. And I don't even own any Kevlar.

Same with getting your head cut off by the terrorists.

A few more kids were shot at school this week, another was killed at home while playing with a gun. But we are very lucky the terrorists or dirty disease people didn't get em!!!

The US has it's own flavor of terrorists we should be concerned with instead of disease or foreign terrorists.

Laurel has plenty of confidence in the government. Around here the zoo keepers let the tigers out with regularity.

Bob, there is something really wrong with your brain. I said nothing in post 37 about a conspiracy. Didn't even hint at one. Just out of curiosity, however, what was this conspiracy you imagined you saw?

The guy in Dallas had close contact with 80 people while he was contagious, he tried to convince the hospital he was hot, they blew him off, and sent him home.

What makes anyone think any or many of the players will do their jobs!

Aint gonna happen.

Fools never learn.

He even told one nurse that he'd come from Liberia, yet they sent him home.

Ebola what the hell, is the food there, like the food at Eccola?

That's what you WANT us all to believe....

Yes, its insane.

I imagine the man had no insurance. Trust me, if you have no money or insurance its impossible to have ebola or anything else. I investigated too many ERs killing kids with no insurance or Medicaid. When an illegal presents for treatment the child has a cold....regardless of the symptoms.

All the same acquaintances who were wigging out about bird flu are now wigging out about ebola.

I gently remind them that we somehow, someway survived that - and that it's unlikely ebola is going to be the end of civilization, but they're too busy spazzing out to listen.

One of them has to be 100 lbs overweight and chain smokes. She's far far far far more likely to keel over and die in a slow painful way from obesity-related or smoking-related heart and lung distress, but somehow the sight of cigarettes and Cheetos doesn't send her into mortal terror.

People are weird.

You just knew that this was going to happen in either Texas or Florida. Don't want to expand Medicaid? Then don't be surprised when bottom line-oriented hospitals in your states fuck up.

As if that has fuck all to do with Ebola infections coming in from Africa.... Yea it's the hospitals fault we let people from infected areas travel to the US right? Medicaid funding would have prevented that!! LOL retard.

If we had spent every single fucking penny the US had on the greater DFW medical complex, it wouldn't have stopped it.

See hyea liberuhul crazy.....funding from gubbmint is not the silver bullet cure all. Disease doesn't give a fuck especially exotic disease we are a ways out from doing anything with but containment and helping those poor unfortunate people who have to ride that roller coaster of hell.

But you just keep on with your delusion that moar funding of Medicaid=Ebola problem taken care of and US immune to infection!! LMFAO
