A recent Pew poll says Americans are mostly (68%) optimistic about the future.

But its heavily weighted by age… only 10% of Americans under 30 believe in a better tomorrow.

History is full of ups and downs. Things will inevitably get better, just to deteriorate again and the cycle will continue over and over long after we're all dead and buried. Better to live in the moment than to spend what could be your last moments worrying what the future holds.

There have always been people loudly proclaiming the end of the world.

Allow me to point out that life expectancies have increased during our lifetimes… the global standard of living has increased, food production has increased… and so on.
