No, it really is not a nationwide concern. There are so few Hispanics in Ohio its entirely possible you could live in the state and never actually see one, certainly not on anything that could be considered a consistent basis. He is just taking advantage of racism, plain and simple.

Record numbers of deportations, expedited asylum cases and border wall failures. No concern there.

Hispanics make up 4% of the population in New Hampshire and lets be fantastically innacurate. All of them are illegal. Not a single one was born here or legally immigrated. It would take every single one of them being a dangerous criminal for this to be a valid concern for people living there. Racism doesn't really recognize state borders.

Perhaps because title 42 expulsions are about covid.
As for the role of racism in all this, well, we all know that immigration would not be the hot-button issue that it is if the immigration pressure were coming from Canada instead of Mexico. And that is not because Canadians speak English.
I'm starting to wish the faction that wanted to annex all of Mexico after the Mexican-American War had gotten their way. Then none of this would be a problem. (Also it might have averted the Civil War or at least changed the politics contributing to it, because maintaining numerical parity of slave states with free states would no longer be even remotely possible.)
