Are big breasts so bad?

So, I was just watching this Playtex bra commerical, and they start talking about how from the beginning of time there have always been A cups, B cups, and C cups... "but not all women are made that way." I think, oh, so they're coming out with bigger sized bras. D's... maybe even double D's? But no, they introduce their new line of half size cups... A 1/2, B1/2, C1/2. Wow. That helps this DD girl out a lot. I mean, I love my boobs, even if they are big. Why don't companies like Playtex? It's ironic how a lot of their bras try to make ladies have the appearance of bigger breasts, but when it comes time to serve those who are already well endowed, it seems like a big no-no. The same goes with other well-known lingerie stores... ::cough- Victoria's Secret!?::

Don't get me wrong, I certainly don't know a lot about the company Playtex. Maybe they do have a "plus-size" bra line. But why make it an advertising secret?

Alright, that's where this rant comes to an end!

You have a DD? I'd kill to be that size still, right now I wear a G cup and it's becoming too tight. :(

im between a d and a dd but when i went to get a strapless i had to go down from a 34 to a 32.

unfortunately the bra, however nice it is(its a push up too) is way too tight. at least i know my boobs will never weigh the bra down
lol

theres a store in canada(if n e 1 is from the states) in ontario specifically that i know of called la senza and they do go up to a DD in some of their bras.
nice designs too. and not to expensive no more than $40 bucks a pop

I was a dd till I started to lose weight now I am a d and still have a hard time finding a bra that is comfortable for me to wear, hate to say it but I try and not wear one all the time.

Depending on how things are I go between a 40 and 42
DD.........the best bras that I've found that are comfy AND
stylish are at Lane Bryant----the best time to go bra shopping
there is when they have their "buy 2, get 2 free" sale. It's
great because I've had the best luck w/ finding black satin
bras, which I love to pieces!

I have a friend whom I went to college with who was
a DD cup, but she had breast reduction surgery because
her size was hurting her back (I believe she's a B or C
cup now).

Big breasts do have their good and bad points, but I feel
its all in the attitude of the individual who has them :)

I went through this EXACT thought process while watching that commercial! Screw all you lingerie companies...I'm going to Lane Bryant (i've also heard good things).

Yay!!! Another person heading to Lane Bryant for bras! :)

(may I also add that they have stylish undies in several
diff. styles?)

I feel like a walking advertisement!

Another store

Another store to shop for bras that are D, DD, etc. is JC
Penney, depending on where you live. I've had luck there
before, but I've gotten bras there before more for
practicality. For that and style, its Lane Bryant all the way.

I also recommend going to a specialty shop that specializes
in bras of all diff. styles, including "long-line" bras (I had to
get one last summer when I was a bridesmaid in a friend's
wedding), and they have lots of sizes.

If any out there are in Connecticut (where I live), the store
I went to was Saxon-Kent Lingerie. Very good store, w/
attentive and helpful staff. A bit on the pricey side, but
well worth it if one needs bras in a size that cannot be
found in a regular dept. store, or looking for a strapless
bra, or long-line bra , etc.

I am also a 42 DD and I also think that the other company meantioned in the first of this thread has a very big secret....they only make bras for smaller breasts...
You should see their faces when I go into look around...
Like all snooty you don't belong here looks....disgusting...

I wish we had a lane bryant around her ours closed a few years back...
Maybe online would be the right place for me to shop;)

I second the plug for Lane Bryant!

Besides having a huge selection, they are made SO very well...I have worn bras that were so much more expensive yet quickly became completely useless...Lane Bryant bras seem to last forever. Just like all the rest of their clothing. I have never been disappointed with anything from their stores, ever.

I have wondered why in the world companies don't cater to larger women, when the 'average woman' is something like a size fourteen or sixteen...don't they realize that if that is average, that means approximately half of the population is OVER that, correct? Which means they are losing out on a HUGE base of potential customers.

No wonder places like Lane Bryant are absolutely booming lately. :) They understand reality!

*dusting off my sewing machine...*
Realizing there's alot of big-breasted women who are in need of comfort and it is my duty to comfort them!!!

I'm a 34 D/DD. The Ds are too small for me and gives me what me and my sister call "boob fluff". The DDs are too big. I buy my bras from either Target or Victoria's secret. It's hard to find the bigger bras in VS, but they do have some up to 34DD, I don't know about bigger sizes though. Those are cute, but are usually too expensive for a poor college girl like me. Target has cheap basic ones, and I kow they also have at least 34DD. If you want fancy stuff like lace and pretty designs though you're pretty much out of luck anywhere. It makes me so mad! I think a bunch of us should start a new line of bras for bigger boobs that are really cute and comfortable. Anyone with me?

Totally with you! The thing is, i'm not a "plus size" anywhere in the universe except for Victoria's Secret. According to their sizes, i'm a 36DD, but their sizes run small, so i usually end up getting 36D at other places. The only DD bras at VS are the plain jane ones. And yes, the women are snooty as hell if i ever dare ask them to help me find something in my size. Hmmmm...maybe i'll take a trip to LB today!

i LOVE lane bryant bras. and some of them are soooooo cute. the latest i bought was the blue polka dot bra and panty set. :)

Lane Bryant is great for larger bras, I am a D and my Daughter is a E so we are always on the hunt for sexy, pretty bras. Also try major dept stores, here we have Dillards, Yonkers and they have a wonderfull selection of larger bras. Bali makes lots of larger sizes and most dept. stores will order for you if they don't have them.
Another place to check is EBAY there are many online stores there that sell bras. I have gotten many VS bras, new but without tags that I have never been able to find in my local VS store. They are missing out on alot of sales by not selling larger sizes, same goes for panties, garters and such.

Wow

You know as a man, like all men, we love big breasts. Oh heck... who am I kidding, we just love breasts! But all kidding aside, I know from a friend just how much bigger breasts can be hard on your back as well as what this whole thread is about... hard to find something that fits. She also gets hers at Lynn Bryants and sings their praises as well.
It just really amazes me that when most women in the US are sizes 14-18 and with larger breasts why do they keep making things for skinny women. What's up with that?
You would think that since this is the normal, they would make more money making things that normal people need and want.
So, for all the trouble you all go through (but to all the pleasure you give us), my hat is off to you... you fine lovely ladies!

I am a 38 DD/DDD (E/F) and I hate bras and hate underwires even more. I have the ones I wear most custom made. I fit into Fredrickson of Hollywood bras but I prefer to see my toes when I look down, not a shelf of breasts.

I have been working on some bra designs with my lingerie cad software and eventually I think I will have something I love.

Does Lane Bryant have non-underwire bras?

I loved this bra called
Bioform by charnos. Unfortunately, it is only useful for events where I will be mainly standing, because the molding slips under my ribs. :(

I kind of like corsets as the hold my breats up from my waist and hips in a way. no pressure on my ribs, neck or shoulders.

You have just voiced my biggest complaint. My sister and I wear 18's and we either have to buy really ugly clothes or the skin tight teeny bopper clothes. I stick to tshirts. lol

About the boobs and back pain: My little sister is an E and she's 5'2. Not only do her bras only come in Black, white or nude but she has horrible back pain. She also shops at Lane Bryant.

I know all about the clothes part and I think it really sucks. And I really do hear you on the backpain. I could not imagine what it would be like to have to carry that weight on your chest. I know when I was almost 240, how when I walked I would look down and I would see my belly move from side to side as I walked. I remember the feeling of just wondering is this how a preg lady feels. I would find myself resting my arm on my belly. Since then the Doc put me on Atkins and I lost 50 pds. Now at 193, I feel better, clothes fit better and it is nice to see my toes again. But the one thing that I never thought about was that my back was always killing me. Since the belly is gone, I have not had that much problems. Not like I used to.

If a women has a breast reduction, I can understand it big time. I mean when I look at your AV my mouth waters and I would love to bury my face in there, but is the pain to your back worth it? Only you can say so. But yea.... I love big breast and some of the ladies on here who have beared them, they are lovely. But... to be in pain... I could see the reasons for reduction.

Ahhh...to live in the US...lol. No Lane Bryant here in Canada. I find it really difficult to find DD/DDD bras I need here. Basically I have found my best bet is to buy from the Sears catalogue. I have yet to find one that is sexy or fun or comes in a matching bra and panty set that doesn't look like it belongs on a grandmother but they fit, and hold these suckers in place.

I'm not plus sized, and being only 5'1 it's a good portion of my body. I know my bf loves my breasts but it's starting to do bad things for my back. I'm going to see a plastic surgeon in September to see about a breast reduction (hey, if I can't find bras that fit in Canada at least OHIP will pay for the surgery!) but the longer I wait the more I wonder if I should. I was a B-cup by 4th grade, so I've had breasts longer than your average woman in her early to mid-twenties and it's like they've always been a part of me. I'm so afraid I'll regret doing it, but at the same time I'm soooooo excited to be able to wear cute bras for once in my life!

I'm in Canada as well, and I'm a 42 DD/DDD depending on the bra.

I shop at Addition-Elle, Pennington's, and Forever Yours, for my lingerie.. Forever Yours sells the best quality stuff, but the cheapest bra I ever got there was $42 on SALE. Generally, I try with Addition-Elle, which are also kinda pricey, but if you really try them on, and really look, you're bound to find one that is good support, and pretty, and usually comes with matching underwear.

I'm 5'10, and while I do have some back problems, I don't generally chalk them up to my boobs.. my POSTURE, however, I blame on my boobs. They're heavy!

Believe me that pic just makes my boobies look big. LOL. I wear about a 40 C. I don't have back pain from my boobs. My sister has alot of back pain. She's thinking of a reduction. She's the one with the E's.
