ARCHIVAL DISCUSSION to 11-14-08

yep, all of it... to do as you please with the palace guard and loyal subjects...

:rose:

Black Tulip, I see your role more as that of my "up-close and persaonl" associate, not unlike Valerie Perrine in Superman.

Pure, before you slip off into some other dimension, do either you or BT have any suggestions for a post this weekend?

Rumple Foreskin

Hmm, now I am desperately trying to remember what she did. All I can recall is a certain Alfred who was Batman's butler.

Does that mean you fancy yourself Superman? Sounds interesting.

:D

How about that Day'sNights person? Did Pure manage to get in touch with him/her?

There is also someone knocking at the door with an audio tape, but she (I think) is not participating yet.

:rose:

In Superman II, she played the dumb blonde assistant to super villian Lex Luthor played by Gene Hackman. At the end of the movie, she falls for the S-guy and saves his life. To further refresh your memory.

Now you see why I think you're almost typecast for the part.

ps: I'll delete the images once you've responded. After all, this is a serious writing forum. If we don't hear from Pure, I'll try to PM D&N. I did some editing of his story a week or two ago. By now he should have recovered from the experience and be ready for prime time. RF

I posted the following to Days Night, 7-12, but did not PM her(?).
I've not had a reply.

I'm a little reluctant to go ahead with an absolute new person who makes no commitment. But someone can certainly approach him if they wish and find out more. It's in Rumples hands, to be decided with a wave of his sceptre. or something.

Hi Day's Night,
Please 'check in' on the main thread "Discussion Feedback" in this forum

https://forum.literotica.com/...75&pagenumber=4

--introduce yourself-- we're using to keep track of things. If you're interested in a 'swap' type situation, let us know.

We are looking for some volunteer for this and next mo. though things are slow.

Give it a dark wig and you've got the picture.

LOL

Up-close and personal, huh?

P.S. The use of "it" is on purpose here.

If their is absolutly nobody available I would be willing to put one of my mediocre pieces up since I don't want to see such a valuable forum go unused. If their is someone else available I will quickly move behind the curtains...

Lying Eyes,

I sent a PM to Day'sNights but haven't heard back. Why don't you go ahead and lay your story on the SDC alter? If you've got any questions, just as Black Tulip. No, she may be going to bed, who knows, possibly just to get some shut-eye. It happens.

Go ahead an post your story. You might want to include a note about the category and anything specific you'd like us to check out or ignore.

Thanks for taking the plunge.

I'm confused...

I'd love to get some good harsh criticism of my stories, as well as participate in discussions, but I'm confused how to get started. Can anyone help?

Carsonshepherd,

Easy as pie. All you need to do is do two critiques of stories that have already been offered for discussion under the "grassroots" heading. Lying Eyes' story is the one currently featured, and I would encourage you to lend your thoughts to that one, as well as any other story you see fit to comment on. Once you've done that, either Rumple Foreskin, or Pure (when he returns) will post here in this thread and schedule you're story to appear. I believe we are looking for another victim er... volunteer, but this is a "swap" arrangement, so you should do critiques on others' work first. Then if you're interested in featuring your story, you might tell us a bit about what you like to write and what you're hoping to get out of the critiques in this thread. The story can either be one you've already posted, or it can be a work in progress that you intend to post in the future.

Hope that helps.

If you look back a page or two in this thread, you'll see Pure's description of what should be included in critiques...

more questions...

Let's see. I write for the gay category. I have 13 stories posted and 1 pending. They're all series and I don't want to put anyone through critiquing those. In fact I've decided I'm not writing any more series! This last one ate up the whole month of July.

I'm proud of my two series, esp. the "Good Old Boy" but from now on I'm doing one-off stories. I've got one in the works called "My Best Friend's Boyfriend" (play on a Cars song, I sure hope SOMEbody gets that???). It's not finished yet; Do I put it up for critique before or after I post it?

All the feedback I ever get is "Hey I love your stories" type stuff, nothing constructive. I'm not sensitive about criticism. I want to get critique mostly on plot. Characters and dialogue are my strong points and plot is the weak link in the chain. This is what prevents me from writing anything longer than 5 chapters....

To link to it, do I use "attach file?"

Carson,

Welcome to the SDC. Have you read the stickies at the start of this forum?

You can ask for discussion of a story in the making and you can ask for comments on a story already posted. Whatever you choose, it's always two-way. You critique two stories minium in order to get one of yours discussed.

You'll put your name up and one of the caretakers, in absence of the official moderator that's Pure and/or Rumple, will give you the go ahead. More details you can find here:

https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185375&perpage=25&pagenumber=1

:D

Right now we have Lying Eyes up and I think next was GratefulFred. But I'm not sure he did some critiquing (is that a word?) yet.

I think I'm ready, the next time someone comes up. This is a story "in the making" I'm struggling with just a little. Not struggling with the plot but with the writing.

I've critiqued Lying Eyes' story and I'll critique the next one that comes up. I skipped grateful fred but I'll catch the next one.

Let me know what to do next...
carson

Carson,

You're welcome to critique previous stories as well. Black Tulip is still working on hers, I think. Cantdog might still be woking on his. I'm sure either of them would enjoy your thoughts.

Once you do another one, I'd be willing to bet you'd be next in the queue.

I'll be looking forward to seeing your work. I'm not much aroused by gay stories (well, unless there's a woman involved in there somewhere), but that has no bearing on anything. I still do find them fascinating, and I look forward to seeing your story up for discussion.

returned

hi all,
i've returned and see that things generally went along nicely under Rumple's imperious (imperial?-- where is my dictionary?)hand.

it would appear that Carson might be the next volunteer. is there someone else who's higher in priority that i'm overlooking?

I see the 'grateful fred' thread**, and suspect it's a case of someone not being around long enough to have commitments to, and positive regard for, the habitués of this forum. I'm not sure where the 'attitude' of gf is coming from, but clearly once exchanges of ill will get going, they can take on a life of their own.

thanks for the effort, dr. m, and mlyons!

welcome, Carson.

best,
j.

**I'm not aware of all the communications, perhaps, but it appear that gratefulfred posted the thread on his own initiative, w/o Rumple's or anyone's 'go ahead.' IF that's the case, it shows the problems of the 'own initiative' approach in this forum.

It was a total mistake to post...

I did receive an urging invite after two critiques (I gave one) and since it was indicated that none was in the waiting area yet, did place it in up as a new topic (instead of the waiting room forum) - my newbee mistake. My first post did indicate in my sarcastic style of writing that it may have been done wrong, but that's where things started to deteriorate and I saw that the initial comments were rather idiotic and personal and none of which were constructive or professional.

I harbor no ill will whatsoever from the comments as my passion is for writing not ranting. If you cannot find fault in some of your own comments or if you cannot see that you are so hung up on a personality over a work, then my wish is for you to meet some editor who gives you the same treatment.

One day you'll get it.

If this forum had a moderator alot of this confusion could of been averted.

Whatever happened to "KillerMuffin"? The person who is suppose to be moderating this forum but I haven't actualy ever seen post here since I have been checking this place out months ago.

I wish Pure was the oficial moderator.

Me too, LE. More than one person has suggested to Laurel that Pure be given some sort of official authority, even if just as a temporary fill-in moderator, until KM returns. To the best of my knowledge, there have been no responses to any of these suggestions. I have no idea why.

Rumple Foreskin

Maybe she is waiting for a specific number of people asking or suggesting a new moderator?

I'll add mine.

:D

Does Pure want the job?

I'd be happy to put my two cents in to Laurel on Pure's behalf if he indeed wants the responsibility.

I merely mailed Laurel to please appoint another moderator and suggested that could be Pure.

But that is up to her. Pure can always say no and the board needs a moderator, I think.

:D
