today is april-wine's birthday...a few words for a fabulous woman:
for those of you who don't know, april and i are very close friends (and if you need a perfect example of an understatement, read again what i just wrote)...we met in chat a long while back when we both were just wetting our chat wings
i was a butterfly, and she a flower
we fell in love, and if any of you doubt the depth and wonder of a chat love, doubt no more...i have never loved anyone more than my sweet april-wine and over the course of many months we shared a flow of words and a closeness that leaves me breathless to this day
and yet we've never laid eyes upon each other, never shared a hug, never even spoken to each other on the phone
yes, i know we should have, and still should, and the blame of that all lies with me...i can't shake off something from long ago, and in the end the distance between our closeness brought about the end of "us"...a year ago, on this very day, i broke us apart
well...not completely apart, for nothing can break the love nor diminish the closeness, but we've each since gone on to other loves
she to sophie...me to carol
what april and i share now is a tad bittersweet...knowing that maybe we could have had it all makes me sad...knowing she loves another though, fills me with nothing but gladness
sophie, if you ever read this, i wish you nothing but the best...it may be difficult knowing i'm still around, but what you have with april now is yours alone...i know that, accept it willingly and smile upon your union...i bless you both and pray for your eternal happiness
april, to you i say thanks...you've been nothing but a brilliance in my life...i could never ask more from a friend
