Oh Shadow, thank you. Yes, I believe that I deserve the same treatment, of course. I know that it was my husband's illness that lead me to put up with ... not mistreatment... benign neglect maybe? Anyway, he often played the "I'm sick/incapable/unable" card often. And I've learned since he has been away that he is even more well/capable and able than even I imagined he was. Lesson learned.

Yes, you read the posts correctly, Mal treats me wonderfully - albeit our time together is fleeting. In my early posts, I mentioned I had gone 11 years without intimacy, (yes a euphemism for sex - but also the closeness that comes with it). But my experience with Mal has shown that it goes beyond that. I've gone without experiencing caring, consideration, thoughtfulness, mental/emotional/physical connection.

They say you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Well, in my case, what we had slipped away in such small increments while much larger events demanded attention... I almost didn't realize it was gone. It took experiencing even the smallest gesture of thoughtfulness (like being surprised with a Starbucks gift card) to really bring home how much I've been missing from my life. The plus side is - having experience both ends of the spectrum, I'll know not to settle for less. And no, it wouldn't be one-sided. I try to give as much/more than I receive.


So much of what you do causes so many great reactions.....this, as with all your writing is beautiful, and brings such a smile!!

Good morning all

What a crazy evening yesterday!

Because it was crazy, I won't be working much today. But I will probably have time to kill, and I hope to kill it by catching up here.

Anyway, the evening was full of happy surprises and minor calamities (won't bore you with the details). All thrilling in their own way... right down to my drive home late last night. I can't take all the credit - Mal issued a challenge... I upped it. Bwaa ha ha ha.

....but once there....waaay more fun....

The flowers at the top of the dress look so much larger and well rounded than all the rest....I would have thought they would grow better in a warm, wet environment....
