Happy Mardi Gras continues...

Remember the Mardi Gras themed party I went to a few weeks ago? Of course you don't, but I do! And when I came home I had TONS of fun with beads and the mask.

I just found the pics - sometimes I put them in the wrong folder. Anyway, the vobe was VERY different that night than this morning. And I had on far fewer clothes.

Here is a sample pic - I may post more this evening. Do y'all know how yard it is to hold beads in your mouth without crunching them, while trying to look sexy? And darn if I didn't forget lipstick again. Sigh. Oh - It got a bit... um... er... messy. Apologies.

Happen to like the Chicory coffee too! Though Cafe du Monde was a little busy at all hours, it was a nice place to sit and people watch.
Speaking of sitting and watching... wouldn't mind watching you unwind from the celebrations! Maybe even give you a hand removing some of the beads

Yes, Cafe du Monde is always busy. But I love, Love, LOVE it. I like having a plate of beignets in the main area with a great view of the street corner. I love watching the peopole inside, the street performer (Foil Tin Man, Bead Man, Whoever) on the corner, the carriages lined up waiting for tourists, St Louis Cathedral as a backdrop.

And then after the beignets are gone, ordering another Cafe Au Lait and taking it to the shaded tables outside in back. More people watching, but it's quieter and doesn't get as much traffic. Perfect for filling in a journal or photo log, or catching up on a good book, or best of all, sharing an intimate moment with someone special. Sigh...

"Unwinding" is my favorite time of day. That sense of accopmpishment that comes when you wrap up for the day, and the twinge of possibility... of what could come next, or tomorrow.

As for your offer of help... why don't you help me remove the beads, then we can get carried away and lost in our own world... and not be torn away for the "smudge" - we can always say we got it... I won't tell if you won't.

Probably because that's a necklace and not Mardi Gras beads. I like dark french roast, too. I just tend to go in cycles. Trader Joe's Winter Blend in winter, Cardamom in early spring (reminds me of coffee in Egypt), Chicory sporadically, and dark French and Italian roasts most often.

Well, if we split a five hour energy drink, I wouldn't feel much of an effect. Anyone who has been at a conference with me, or who has been in my gravitational field when I'm no deadline has encountered those little red bottles, in the fridge, my purse, the glove compartment, my computer bag, on my desk, on my nightstand. Love 'em!

And ohhhh Sweetie... Gin always brings the overly sensual to the surface. But the gin wore off and I spent the evening focusing on the mental and emotional rather than the sensual.

Things have been unsettled and busy since the conference-- as you've seen in some of my posts-- so I've needed to spend some mental and emotional energy sorting through it all. On one hand, that means fewer pics, less play time and fewer naughty posts for y'all to enjoy.

But on the other hand, being inside my mind and heart for a couple of days has helped me tremendously. I've come to realizations I probably wouldn't have otherwise and have once again astonished myself with how doors, minds, and hearts open through total honesty. I could save myself a lot of time and angst if I would remember that, rather than bottling things up and retreating into a shell out of a misguided effort at self preservation. Sigh. You'd think I'd remember this after 40 years and just stay open and transparent.
