I was just sitting here wondering why it is so easy for some people to make friends, and then some , like me, cant make friends no matter how hard I try. Not feeling sorry for myself,,its just an honest question for myself. I have tried so hard to make friends, but it seems impossible.
I have tried being extra nice..no one wants that.
I have tried being flirty..no one responds...
Hmmm. Maybe its too early in the morning for me to be asking myself these questions....need coffee...

I was sitting here wishing I didnt have to go to work. IceyFire: There's no single way to make friends that works. I'm a natural introvert with some self-esteem/self-image/confidence levels that are too low...so I'm hardly an expert on making friends. But it sounds like you're doing the right things, it's probably that the people you're being nice to and flirty with aren't the right people. Besides...the kind of people that will only talk friendly with you when you flirt with them aren't the sort you'd want to hang out with online anyways. Who needs shallow friends like that? Pfffft!
So just continue being yourself. Even from a brief post like that, you sound like a nice person, so eventually people will talk to you because you sound interesting to them and worth knowing. So don't expect too much in the beginning, just have fun and enjoy yourself in posts even if no one jumps into a conversation with you for a while.
And hey, the people who don't warm up to you right away might have been taken in by falsely-nice internet people before...or they already have more friends than they can handle without juggling them.
