What does anyone else think of the Billy & Chuck angle (re:story line/plot)?

WWE sure got alot of press over the last five days for promoting a same sex marriage - or "commitment ceremony" as they put it - to be on cable TV. If I'm not mistaken it was going to be the first ever same sex marriage - male or female - on cable TV wasn't it?

In a way it was a great swerve (re:trick) to have it end up being a publicity stunt taken too far only to have Billy & Chuck attacked by Eric Bichoff's Raw thugs .. at the same time though I would have liked to have seen them press on with the angle in some way.. The rights groups actually this time didn't seem to mind how Billy and Chuck were portraying the gay community and some even said that this could be good for the future of the TV industry.

Anyone else have thoughts? Agree with me? Should the entire idea of the 'wedding' never have even come about?

i thought it was funny as hell all my ahem..."friends" hated seeing those "faggots" up there all they wanted to see was bashing

Aren't most male wrestling fans homosexuals anyway?

Now they can finally come out of their trailers...

I was disapointed at how many boos were being heard.. But then I'm not sure if thats because they were opposed to seeing a gay wedding or if it was because most wrestling fans can't stand to see a weddign of any sort period.

Funny how fans didn't boo the "HLA" on Raw though..

dont you gotta be gay to watch buff men in tights grab each other and "pin" them in several kama sutra ways?

There is a little gay-ness in everyone isn't there?

No, no, no!!!! You don't have to be gay. That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard today....so far. Although the final results of the match are fixed and they practice the match before hand, it's still exciting to watch. I am amazed at what these people do to their bodies. Shoot, a swantan off of a 20 foot ladder? That's gotta hurt! They put their bodies thru hell just to entertain US. Just because it's "fixed" doesn't mean it doesn't hurt. They are incredibley talented! People who watch men in tight pants hitting a ball and running the bases. Does that mean that baseball fans are gay? Don't be so friggin homophobic that you point fingers at someone who enjoys the sport. Hell, don't be so damn homophobic anyway!
The Billy/Chuck thing came as no surprise to me. I thought it was a publicity stunt all the time. What surprised me is that Rico was a part of it. What I'm really sick of is the rivalry between Raw and Smackdown, and only seeing certain people on certain days.
Ok, I'm done with my ranting.

Yeah, it's all coming back to me now.

Didn't the Crusher and Nick Bockwinkel neck with each other all the time?

Or was it Baron Von Rashke?

Omg, how friggin obnoxious of me!!! Might I also point out, that there is nothing wrong with being gay!!! Here I was so focused on defending wrestling, that I neglected to defend homosexuality!!! Love is love, be grateful that you have it, regardless what's between his/her legs!!!

Well put Naughty n Nice on both posts...

And is it just me, or is Billy and Chucky's theme kinda catchy? I mean I can't stand boy bands and thats what the theme is done by, a boy band.. but the theme they use has a different sound to it. Jim Johnson has made some awesome music over the years.. It's a wonder he hasn't tried to really branch outside of wrestling and into mainstream music.

Geez, the things I'll talk about to get my mind onto other things when I'm bored out of my mind and horny as hell..

I haven't been paying attention to this, as I haven't watched wrestling in a while, but I thought the whole deal with this was that it was a double entendre — Chucky asks Billy to be his "partner for life" (or vice versa, whatever, like I said, haven't been paying attention), which could mean wrestling or gay marriage.

I figured the story line would end when Billy finally realizes what the rest of the world knows: that Chucky is gay and that he means more than just wrestling. Then he says "I don't like you like that," Chucky cries, and we all get a good laugh out of it.

Of course, this really isn't anything new. There was a time when the most popular black wrestler talked about pimpin' and blunts, and the most popular Latino wrestler talked like Cheech Marin in Born In East L.A. and tried to get a G.E.D. . . . what good are minorities if they can't be stereotyped?
