i adore the mandolin, i play mine every day again. i am playing mostly celtic music, and i'm working towards jazz and blues. i was forcefed bluegrass for 9 or 10 years and so i refuse to play that. i'd say the mandolin is very hard to learn at first. not musicially so much as physically. the strings pinch your fingers a lot.

Guitar is the same....but I've been playing that for about 20 years so I never feel it anymore. Just have to build up some callouses. I've never heard the mandolin used in jazz before......but the blues would be cool. I'm a blues fan myself.

we got a puppy!!! he's such a great little dog so far. we've had him a week and so far no accidents in the house and nothing chewed up. he's a lab mix of sorts. his name is mongoose hehehe (i wanna be a mongoose dog)

i'm off to go practice my mandolin. inira fell asleep early so i can do whatever i want with my time. i'm not quite in the mood to take pics. himm. we'll see how i feel after i practice my mandolin.

I may still buy one. I saw this one that didn't look too hard to play. I have no musical talents, so, we'll see...

i've had an absolutely awful day. it started out with me tweaking the settings on our wireless network, i fucked it up and had to call technical support to redo it and it turns out i had done it rather precariously to begin with before i screwed it up. i was so very upset and frustrated i couldnt' help but cry. then i went to go have coffee with a potential friend, not a naughty friend just a normal one. we had some nice conversations he offered to buy my lunch so i let him. then here is the kicker, we went our separate ways, then he found me about five minutes after that and told me that i took advantage of him and that he didn't want to nor had the means to buy me lunch and wanted an apology. i am still so utterly pissed off. i was nice about it and said well, you offered and you shouldnt' have if you didn't want to buy my lunch, i was prepared to buy my own thank you. i ultimately said that i was sorry if i had offended him but there was an obvious miscommunication and how could i not derive the meaning out of lets go get lunch, then looking at me expectantly after he ordered after telling the woman at the counter that he wasn't done ordering. i'm sorry but am i really in the wrong on this one. i mean damn. he already gave me wierd bad vibes and i wasn' tcomftorble around him, i should have just followed my instincts and not agreed to attempt to hang out with him. what an ass. he did say he had short term memory problems maybe he had forgotten about the unspoken offer. i have no intention of even being nice to him from now on. he totally disrespected me. you don't say something you don't mean. he said he was willing to buy me coffee but i had already got my own coffee. i know there was a lot to assume but when he was looking at me expectantly when ordering was i supposed to say i'll buy my own? i totally think he is a wierd asshole, which was my first instinct about him when i had seen him around town. ack, i could rant for days. was i taking advantage of a mentally disabled person. i think not. as far as i'm concerned he offered. i'm kind of an old fashioned girl and when someone wants to open a door for me or buy a drink for me provided i'm a little comftorble with them i'll oblige. i'm not the type to say no when offered something appealing. fuck i'm pissed off. i am completely put off by him and will now ignore him unless he comes over to talk to me and then i'll only be civil and refuse anything he offers me because that wasn't the first time he had offered me something, it was the first time i had obliged him. i guess i need reminders to trust my instincts. if anything positve has come out of that experience, i guess it's just knowledge. i had never ever had anyone do that to me before.

okay i'll go rant in my journal now.

I once dated a woman who was exactly like this guy. She would offer to do things, then get upset when I agreed to her offer, then accuse me of taking advantage of her generosity. Unfortunately, these people wind up being very abusive (whether they have legitimate problems or not is up to a professional to diagnose, but I believe they do). If you want to continue to associate with this person, that is up to you, but I would suggest that you only deal with him in public and with plenty of others around. Good luck!
