Anyone for a nightcap?

It's a lovely evening

Welcome!
I envy your snow. In the visual sense, anyway. Not in the shoveling sense.

~LB

You'd love Michigan. Very quite and peaceful right now. Just me and nature. Especially at night, its a wonderful chore.

Oddly, I'm full of energy this evening. I start some bread in the beadmaker, shoved the drive and put out more bird seed.

I was even thinking of building a fire . . . anyone up for some chat?

Yes, when you leave you will be missed. And you can cut out the 18th century spelling any time. ;)

*snort*

18th century spelling? Please explain.
And if the Sanjay of my dreams wasn't doing such a good job right now, my feelings might be hurt.

History of typography lesson -

It's a semi-long story (linky), but basically from the incunable period (1450 - 1501 ish) through late c18, the letter "s" looked very much like the letter "f". (FYI - reading anything c18 or earlier is often headache inducing.)

So you said you were miFFed, and MWY took the opportunity to be all typographically hot stuff and make a joke that you were miSSed.

(And I'm probably the only person on the whole board who immediately "got it" and snorted out loud. )

You are. And I applaud you! Although I did get it eventually... I really did. Its just that Sanjay was working his magic on my....
...well, I hope you understand.

p.s. CM, are you feeling better? Just for the record, I am having nightmares involving Vicks. Bad. Very bad.

I only got it because I kinda have a fetish about early books and printing.

I actually felt really real for the first time in over a week, today... skipped sudafed and everything... and WHAMO! The ticklish throat/coughing thing hit like a ton of bricks at 10pm.

Just for the record, there are much worse things than Vicks to have nightmares over. ;)

Yes there are. I know them well. The nightmares, that is.

And drink lots of water. And try Mucinex (or the generic version) for the tickle throat/cough thing.

Stay well.

Happy Friday!
I am happy to report that I ended the week still gainfully employed.

I am confused by all of these new Avs though. Creature of habit I am...you guys confuse me when you change your pictures.

I thought I'd mix it up tonight and have a vodka tonic. And just try to unwind a little.

Cheers!

Congrats on staying employed. These days that's an accomplishment, especially if your business involves trying to bring in more money than you send out.

Hope you had a good vodka tonic. Those, for me, are a summer drink and we now have about 7 new inches of not-summer settling onto our driveway.

Oh, and sorry about the av change. I wanted to show a new face. :p

That is indeed a very nice new face, Sir :D

and LB, I decided to be a bit playful, hence the reason for my av change- it's Master's favorite pic of me

Both of your avs are perfectly lovely, yours especially Nala, since its you. I do not believe we are seeing any part of the real MWY, though. :p

Visual person that I am, I tend remember people (and their posts) by their avs rather than by name.

Oh, and Nala, it hit 70 degrees here yesterday. So the vodka tonic didn't seem weird to drink. I agree its a warm-weather drink. Sorry about your 7 inches of "not-summer." I don't miss that at all...

~LB

Thanks, LB. And yes, I think we can safely say that MWY's av is definitely NOT him :D

While MWY has the 7" of "not summer", I envy you your 70 degrees as in VA I had 33 yesterday with a very biting chill. They are calling for snow this weekend though

I'm not used to my own new Av yet, much less everyone else's . LOL

And it seems that you all changed your avs on the same day. Way too much for me to process at one time! ;)

Yours is lovely too. Its too bad MWY got rid of his Spencer av. You too would have complimented each other nicely.

See...what did I tell you? I even know that MWY lives in the midwest, where it snows alot. Its the new avs that confused me! Or maybe I was predicting your snow... ;)

Well if you're predicting my snow, I guess I can brave your warm weather to come give you a big hug and kiss- I just love snow having been born in Montreal Canada :D

Good thinking. I just got a PM from a delightful sounding woman who was looking to chat. She mentioned something about adoring the "touch of another woman" and so I politely let her know that that av had not been entirely representational.

You're perceptive as well as beautiful. I'd so hoped to keep my location mysterious but it appears that you sleuthed me right out. ;)

I imagine you might have found yourself the recipient of PMs from some not so delightful men as well...

Well I hope my beauty is slightly greater than my perceptiveness.
