Anyone for a nightcap?

Unfortunately JM, this thread leans a little on the side of alcohol. We only do coffee on weekend mornings. ;)

Speak for yourself, young lady! We do coffee on the weekdays too, though we don't announce and discuss it quite as regularly as we dish on the sauce. ;)

So sorry...I didn't mean to imply that we didn't drink coffee on weekdays. I should have been more clear. My head is still a little fuzzy from my weekend of over-indulging. And I even had coffee this morning.

Word up, my caffeinated brotha.

Not to disappoint, I hope, but I generally drink the decaf - but I make it as strong as my coffeemaker's innards can stand. :D

I'm glad you had your coffee today, LB. It's the first refuge of the over-indulgent, and the best one, too.

Actually, V-8 juice is best cure. But I didn't have any.
Really, I suppose the best cure is not to over-indulge in the first place. I need to get back to having some discipline around that. I like my liver, anyway.

I want the hangover cure made by Bertie Wooster's valet Jeeves:

In P. G. Wodehouse’s Jeeves and Wooster series, a hangover is the occasion of a happy event, Bertie’s hiring of Jeeves. Bertie, after “a late evening,” is lying on the couch in agony when Jeeves rings his doorbell. “ ‘I was sent by the agency, sir,’ he said. ‘I was given to understand that you required a valet.’ ” Bertie says he would have preferred a mortician. Jeeves takes one look at Bertie, brushes past him, and vanishes into the kitchen, from which he emerges a moment later with a glass on a tray. It contains a prairie oyster. Bertie continues, “I would have clutched at anything that looked like a life-line that morning. I swallowed the stuff. For a moment I felt as if somebody . . . was strolling down my throat with a lighted torch, and then everything seemed suddenly to get all right. The sun shone in through the window; birds twittered in the tree-tops; and, generally speaking, hope dawned once more.

I just want Jeeves.

There's actually no way to be a weak, cowardly drunkard with style.

Get a grip on yourself, man. Find some French roast, or something.

*giggles* I thought that said ''french toast'' a la eggy bread :eek:

I'm ok........I'm aiming to do it with no style whatsoever

Anyway, here's your extra large, m'lady. Don't you worry, this too shall pass. :rose:

and we're not just talking about my extra large one eh ;)

um, something will definitely give, any day now. it remains to be seem if that will be me. :rose:

So I picked up Juno Chard on my way home from work today.

The label is really pretty.

The wine is ~eh.

I really hoped not to drink anything tonight...but such is life.

(I did keep it down tonight. Not in that way. I have a strong stomach.)

I don't think I've ever seen this in the stores.

That said, when I picked up the Gnarley Head today, I thought of CutieMouse because I seem to recall that she'd posted about sipping on some G Head recently.

Really, we need a space...just for us...on this forum to post fabulous wines. A little database maybe....

(What did you all call overuse of ellipses? I forgot. :D)

I can't believe no one commented on my flannel sheets.

Anyway. Fuck preschool. That's what I have to say. Fuck it.

These are t-shirt sheets actually. I'm such a liar! But they feel like flannel to me. Very toasty.

I love ice cold cotton sheets. Even in the winter. One of the best feelings in the world is that half-asleep moment when I move my leg from a warm spot to an icy spot on the sheets. Bliss.

And what's the deal with preschool?

Same here: I crave the feel of a cold place on the sheet most nights.
