ok, i'm fairly new here and i am not scared to admit that i don't know what a lot of the lingo around here means. i know there are tons of other "newbies" out there that aren't sure about a lot of things. i figured i could start a thread for people to ask questions and not be worried about sounding like idiots. after all, that's why most people just live in the dark (they're too afraid to admit that they don't understand). i'll get the ball rolling...
what the hell is a sammy?

in lower case its a sub, bottom, slave, etc.

THIS one confused the bejeebus out of me for a while. I eventually figured out what it inferred, but still didn't know what it stood for.

Silly me, I'd guessed it stood for Person You Love. Oops. ;)

Ya know... that's what I initially thought too... guess we both think alike.

I like that better.

But, evidently (this was before my time) their was an issue around about labels (like the difference between a sub and a slave). So AA invented the whole pyl thing so that you didn't have to spend all your time saying things like 'all you dom/me's, masters, mistress', tops, sirs . . .'. You get the idea.

thanks!! i too thought that PYL stood for Person You love/Like.

Ok i need help with this one...i know that Dom is pronounced with one syllable. So how is Domme pronounced? my thinking is that it's a two syllable word. Am i close?

Thanks ritza

Oh, god. Please don't get everyone started on this.

Some people pronounce domme like dom, and others pronounce it dom-ay. Whatever floats your boat.

Hi

Those were all cool to know. It was the shall we say more narrow focused in lifestyle like snowballing and earning your red wings that stuck in my head lol. Nice to see a fellow palmetto lifestyler. Hope you enjoy your time here. I have met great people and learned many things.

The true test however is if you go to walmart, go walmarting or go to the walmart...

Or avoid it like the plague.

I call it wally-world. My best friends says to her daughter "Let's go to wally-world and play with the old people!". It's cause whenever they go to walmart people are always stopping them to tell her how cute her daughter is.

My husband jokingly told our two children when they were younger and more gullible than they are now, that the reason the greeters always said how cute they were was because walmart bought children to work in the stockroom.

As they got older they'd be moved to better and better positions like checker, until finally they became greeters or buyers.

They used to stay pretty close to us when we shopped there...
