Anyone else having trouble with e-mail notifications?

No email notes here either.

That or no one is posting to the "Fuzzy Nose and Glasses are the ultimate fetish gear" thread I started.

It's happened right after the maintenance.

My husband tried to register but never got a confirmation link.

The consensus is that this gets fixed within a few days and everything arrives at once. Been about two days.

Did you really? *L*

Seriously though, I need a solution because I feel out of the loop.

*grr*

That sounds encouraging. There really isn't that much going on for me to be worried about missing.

Still, when my e-mail consists of notices from, work, buds, parenting, home schooling, role playing and story telling groups alone it's a bit bland. *sighs*

**wondering what it feels like in a loop?**

do you need lube?

So, if you're not getting email notifications, you gonna just hang out in this thread all night?

As for the problem, I have noticed it, myself. But, if there has been an update, I'm sure Manu isn't real happy, either. He's gonna have to fix it...or have someone else fix it.

It will get fixed. Someitimes these things take a while, but they get fixed. If you stay real quiet and put your ear up to the monitor, I bet you can hear Manu cussing, right now.

Go ahead...try it. :D

The computer whiz at Lit is no longer muttering.

Um, no, sadly I have too much I have to do and have been away.

*puts ear to monitor, hears eerie noise that sounds like motors and fans, shivers*

Really??? I sure would LOVE that!

And yet, you posted at 5:08 and I still at 5:18 find nothing from Lit in my box. *grumbles* (Not that I'm impatient or anything like that.)

Hmmm.

Mine is working now. (I posted a similar thread to this in the Author's Hangout yesterday.)

I don't bother with email notifications. I simply go to my control panel and there are all the threads I've subscribed to. I just click on the "go to new posts" button and it takes me right to where I last read to on the thread.

Hmm, I haven't been using the email links the last couple of days but just checked and my email is full of them so mine must be working. If it doesn't come good, drop a quick note to Manu and he will check it out Fury. Can't have you outta the loop!!

I think i'm getting everyone else's notifications. Every time someone posts I get a notification. I'm getting thirty + notifications a day, and I'M ONLY SUBSCRIBED TO THREE THREADS. grr

Hi Gracie, you can change how often you get them Like once/day

That depends...did I miss my email notification telling me Fury finished her next part for her wonderful, amazing, story? If it was sent...I missed it *pout*

He, he, he, only three?

Geez!

I'm subscribed to, let me go look. Shit! There are 27 pages of 'em. Granted most say no notification on them now but still.

Heh, no such thing has happened as yet, but I did work on it tonight! It's looking pretty decent I think. Probably sometime this week Wednesday night or later I will ask if someone wants to read through it for me and help me out with it.

Well, I think i'm subscribed to more than three, but only three of them get regular enough posts to show up daily.

Not that it will fix anything, but it might not hurt to log out and then log back in again. Or, better yet, delete the Lit cookie, and let the site create another one. The cookie could be corrupt.

I'm registered to quite a few threads, but if there's no activity, they just fade into the deep beyond. I think there are always times when threads I'm registered to get posts that I don't know about. I think every so often is kind of normal, because there just has to be a few glitches in the software. Nothing is perfect.

Another thing to try...have you posted to a NEW thread, in the last day or so? It is possible there was something wrong and if that something was fixed. It's just something else to try. At least it keeps your mind off of the bad things.

Although, if you do either or both of the first options, this one would maybe be null and void. Oh, and as a disclaimer, if your computer screen blanks out when you do any of this, it wasn't my fault...honest! :D

Check your spam filter. If too many come at once your puter decides they're spam.

I've started to get e-mail notifiations about pm's again now.

Good idea! I didn't find anything there though.

Good!

I now think it's an AOL problem. When I changed the e-mail addy to the Lit one I created the notifications came in just fine. Hmm.

aHem...you should have mentioned AOL was involved. That is one strange program. Not that it doesn't work, but I experienced many problems with client reps using company software on their AOL home systems when I had to deal with such things.

AOL is like some other systems that I won't mention (Microsoft) that potentially work fine, as long as there are no third party programs involved. And, I have friends who gave me headaches with their AOL problems...problems I couldn't fix because they didn't follow normal systematic tendencies.

Of course, all of these are problems from the 90s, when AOL was in the middle of it's Time Warner/Time magazine/Netscape purchases. I have an interesting story about Time magazine, Netscape and AOL. Well, I think it's interesting. It did involve AOL's email program, by the way. I'd think they surely have the bugs out of it, these 10 years later.

Oh, glad to hear you're back among the living and getting notified, again. :nana:
