With yahoo, you enter your zip code.

It does involve going to the yahoo page to get the weather, but is generally current and very accurate. They also send storm alerts in my e mail...very important in this neck of the woods!

I do think their forecasts are based on WeatherChannel.

On your yahoo messenger there are little icons at the bottom right above what your status is. It is the tab with the lil cloud. See pic.

I use weatherbug, love it, though the chirpy warning is a tad annoying when writing erotica, tends to interrupt.

All my local news stations have a WeatherBug. Ridiculous. If I want to know what the weather's going to be like, I look out the damned window.

If I want a forecast, I'll watch The Weather Channel. Or I'll watch my local news and realize they're overhyping it. If they say we're getting 12 inches of snow, we're only getting six. If they say there's a tornado watch, I expect a thunderstorm.

I've got weatherbug loaded onto my laptop. I don't have it on the other comps here at home. I've never noticed it messing anything up. Should I be aware of something?
