I had a thought that might be fun for some and a great service to the on line community at large.

We have many threads covering all degrees and brands of BDSM. AS such, with the input of all the posters over the last year and some weeks, the information we can provide to a diligent reader is varied, valid to people of all tastes and when one weeds through, great info to have.

Several of our authors/posters have written essays or articles on BDSM. Some are located in the Non Fiction section of the Stories Index and the newest one, still in development is here on the forum.

This led me to think and ask, how would you feel about taking some of the thread topics, gleaning the good info from them and writing essays. Initially, I wanted to explore starting separate website for BDSM info, but thought it might be easier to see if literotica would spare us some space.

Now, I realize that in terms of Hecate's essays and Risia's, we would want their consent before moving them to a new Story section or other part of literotica, but what about new essays based on the input of the many posters here?

This "service" would be new and different in that the essays would have the perspective of a rainbow of personalities with varying translations of BDSM practices, ideologies and philosphies. As such, any site or section of lit for us would hold a bit of something for everyone.

Any thoughts?

Let me know :)

Good idea!

I think that is a great idea! I would love to help out. However, I don't know much on the subject of BDSM as I am reletivly new. If there is any other way I can be of assistance, please let me know

:D

Thanks, valcorie!

I am not sure that the knowing is ever so important. We have miles of bandwidth with loads of information.

The threads are great for discussion purposes, but geesh, all this info...hell, we could write a book!

;)

:D I voted, I couldn't write an essay to save my life...but I know someone who is an excellent writer :D hehehe, she'll love me more for volunteering her.

All I can say is "Go with God children." I write for a living, and quite frankly the thought of writing any more than I already do makes me nauseous.

But I am behind you all...way behind you.;)

Is it fair to say she is yours to volunteer?

;)

Cool.

Thanks, EB.
You can be our official cheerleader.
Or give the poms poms to PBW......

A somewhat longer and cleaned up version of the SSC essay is already listed in the Reviews & Essays section. If you want to move it, fine by me. I don't know what Laurel will say on the subject, and because it was a prize winning kinda thing, she might have some issue with moving it. But, you've got my permission, if that ends up making a difference.

I will also be adding a fireplay How-To essay sometime this month. That's all I can commit to contributing right now, but for what it's worth, I've got the fireplay stuff covered. And, again, cross-listing or relocation is fine by me.

Thank you, Risia.

Your essays, BDSM and not, have tickled my grey matter for some time.

If I voted, it would be "I couldn't write an essay to save my life....", so I really am in awe of some of you who can really, really, write!

Well, the library would be a great starting place to grab info and groups of threads on similar subject areas ;)

See how my thinking process has evolved?

Hmm, I didn't vote, because 1) I doubt anyone who's read this far is going to vote on the not really side of the equation, and 2) I'm undecided. While I don't write for a living, I hope too, and actually spend more time on it than anything that actually pays. I despised essays when I was force fed them through my scholastic career.
I don't know how much help I can give, but it sounds like a reasonable idea. Put me down as a chearleader, I guess, I can yell "Ra ra rutz" as loud as the next guy.

*sigh*

Another one of those damned MissT ideas that makes sense and forces thought on the part of others. Is there no end to her wondemousness?

I seem to write fairly well and can do essays as well as anything else I do, if not better. I know from nothing about BDSM, but I can do research and glom info and put it together so it makes sense.

Get some Raid, MissT. The honey bees are sure to circle this load of sticky syrupy sweetness. Ick!

I have not done poll

IMHO I like the threads rather then having them reduced to articles

but

would like to see some of the chit chat edited out

but what do I know?

NOTHING

WE wouldn't be replacing threads.

The essays could be on the topic of the writer's choice.
They could draft something, post it for discussion and the final product could be placed whereever we are going to place them.

Then, as such, if someone reads an essay after it has been submitted, they could link it for further discussion.

BDSM is ever evolving as our doors revolving. *giggles*

So, no topic should ever be closed, with new info out there and a myraid of perspectives offered by our posters.

Ya know plenty, Richard!!!!!

Is it a load of sweetness or a pile of ........?

Thanks for offering and I may just take you up on it. If you have any questions on a topic, I could provide a private tutorial, perhaps?

It's true - there is no end to the wondemousness.

I said honey bees and not flies, Dear.

If you need another hand, MissTaken, I"m good for a paragraph or three. It won't be all that scholarly, and more then likely wrong, but that's never stopped me from writing before. ;)

Thanks, JMJ!

i would be more than happy to write a few essays. i would need some direction though as to which threads you would like me to condense or topics to research, and what to do with them when i am done. Let me know and i will dig in. i have been looking for a new project.
