Recently, I stumbled across the asshattery thread (I've been reading stories on literotica for many years but haven't really read anything on the forums up until now) and while there are plenty of examples of what NOT to do - what ARE ways of initiating contact that especially women appreciate?

So please post the initial messages that you really enjoyed and that resulted in at least a great conversation.

The RULES mentioned in the other thread obviously make sense here as well, despite it being all about the positive:
please do:
protect and respect the sender's right to anonymity

please do not:
provide real names.
provide nicknames/account names/IDs/screen names ... whichever you choose to call them.
provide any personal and/or identifiable information such as email addresses, phone numbers, addresses etc.
provide a picture of the person who sent you the email or PM .. unless you can prove to manu or laurel or any other admin or mod who requests said proof from you.
do anything else on this thread that is against the "terms of service" (TOS) you agreed to when you registered for an account at literotica.

A good recent Pm I got went as follows

... redacted ...

Some elements that worked well:
- Everything was in well written English!
- The honesty worked (though it went a little overboard)
- There was a clear reason for communication beyond sex chat.
- He clearly read my profile and my threads.

The first and last two of those points are probably the minimum viable post to get a response from me.

We don't tend to share "how-to" when it comes to approaching the women of Lit, they get enough harassment without us telling the trolls how to further harass them.

Now, if you'd like to participate in the open forums with said women, get to know them, and they you, through open posts, then maybe, JUST maybe, they may be more responsive to PM contacts. This isn't always the way to their heart, but it's a good start.

Oh, and cock pix, lots and lots of cock pix, they especially like those from people they don't know! </sarcasm>

Munky was the first to troll. Query won the war. Putting that much effort into trolling just means you're pathetic in real life.

So basically--if I'm getting an accurate read--the consensus among the ladies (except for Sheana_V) is: "If you don't already know, I'm not going to tell you." Same line my wife uses when she's pissed at me.

Hardly a helpful response, but then it's no more nor less than I expected...

Monkey - This truly is a topic of, "if you have to ask . . . ", and, if you haven't figured out your answer from the responses given, well then, my friend, you are in a tough place indeed, and in need of far more help than figuring out how to PM random women on an adult site. I wish you well on your journeys.

The sheer intensity of 80's crap movies would bring anyone to their knees... I actually chose the most unlikely :) Besides Molly is not wearing denim - can't be her.

"Hmm, if that lawn was long I would mow it" which followed onto "I am so glad it is not long".

Oh shit I was talking to myself again - but it was a great conversation - so relieved.

Just needed to pull this thread back to it's essence.

I can not believe you just referred to The Breakfast Club as an "80's crap movie." *adds you to block list*

He can't be including "16 Candles" as a "80s crap movie" too, can he? Can he??? *sobs*

Night, this isn't helping shake the dirty hippie status the Rainy one has adorned you with.

I watched Breakfast Club the other day and noticed that Rainshine not only gets her dancing skills from that movie, but her fashion sense as well.

The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, (I'll even include For Keeps)...these are among my most favorite movies of all time. They are not "80's crap!"

Rainshine, Saucy - if only we could get together for a brat pack marathon!

That would be fantastic. I love those movies too, and we could even throw in Better Off Dead for some super silliness.

I can bring wine and chocolate.
