Assault rifles will not be banned.
There will be no federal taxes on ammo/guns.
Background checks will be expanded.
Gun deaths will continue.

Hence, they will go insane wondering why their idea were not taken seriously by "the people."

I'll sleep well at night.

We know you did.

Once your thread gets 175+ posts, let me know, k sweetie?

My thread was inspired by the Sunday News Shows. What I posted was a prediction (except the "Libs going Insane" part).

But that's okay, the forum is big enough for the both of us. No need to try to get into a fight about it.

What really strikes me in the gun control debate is that the NRA crowd is approaching this from totally the wrong angle. They keep asserting that the 2nd amendment is an unlimited right in the face of continued violence and shootings...yet they could be taking a much more responsible approach of focusing on those who are irresponsible and helping with that segment instead of fighting the wrong fight. It's like conservatives who keep going on and on about personal freedoms and personal responsibility, but won't actually back anything that holds people personally responsible. I like going out and shooting guns from time to time and I know a lot of hunters...that being said, the line does need to be drawn somewhere and people need to start showing more responsibility.

So you want the NRA to start a mental health clinic.

That is not it at all. NRA members know they have limited rights to weapons (e.g. they know that only a select few can actually own machine guns). They object to what is going on because they know banning AR-15 style weapons, and limiting handgun magazine capacity will not fix the problems we have.

For once I partially agree with you...simply banning weapons isn't a solution. There do need to be limits and I think that auto fire and high capacity doesn't really have a place outside the military. But it needs to be more comprehensive than that. People need to be qualified to carry firearms... this means background checks, mental evals, safety lessons, verification of a secured storage where the weapons will be kept, and strict controls on high volume purchases of suspicious ammo (some handguns, 5.56, etc).

But if we can't get groups like the NRA to even acknowledge that SOME people shouldn't own guns, there is no starting position. Many of their own members probably fall into that description and they aren't willing to help hold people accountable. Again, the NRA is playing this all wrong...constantly digging in their heels isn't going to work.

Actually, I hope liberal politicians push through some of the gun control. It will be a loser issue for them at the polls.

NRA already acknowledges some types of people should not have access to guns.

How About....

We throw out the marxists, facists, and socialists, return liberty to the people, and see if the school shootings don't just stop alltogether?

So many here, act like this kind of thing hasn't happened before. This has happened before. Authoritarian governments require the subjects to be unarmed.
Human nature 101.

Anti gun nuts, much like Gun loving nuts, are already insane. Neither group should be allowed to have anything more deadly than a loaded cap pistol.

(for you young people, it was a toy with a roll of little dots of powder that went bang when you pulled the trigger)

Come to think of it, most politicians shouldn't be allowed near guns either. Or gun legislation.

How about we all just take a deep breath, think real hard, and make up our own minds whether or not we want to own a gun. If you don't like them, don't buy one. If you want a gun or two or three, have at it. Some days I'm pretty sure the whole world needs slapped upside the head and told to grow the fuck up.

And yes, I own two guns. One is a single shot .22 and the other is a 12 ga pump. I don't need anymore, and I don't want any less.

The NRA has opposed closing the gun show loophole, therefore they've been fighting for everyone, regardless of their background to have full access to guns.

obama is a fucked up person. how many assault riffles were used in Sandy Hook?

obama is not an American
