I have recently noticed an odd quirk in the formatting of some stories. That is seemingly random changes of font from light to black. This usually seems to happen where there have been centred section markers inserted into the text. The other odd thing is where a black section continues over a page break the font resets at the break then goes black again at the next section marker.
I suspect that this has something to do with the embedded HTML in particular the "<centre>....</centre>" tags around the section marker. Could this be avoided by using a "</font>" command at the end of a "center" pair to force the font back to default?
(Just as a side note I have taken to HTML coding my submission texts as I found that this rendered fully formatted text (without the "black font" quirk) in the preview pane. And I hope this reduces a little of the workload of the good staff at LE.)
This is only a minor niggle, but where there are mixed fonts on the page the eye is drawn naturally to the black font section which is a little distracting to the read.
As a personal preference I would like the black font used as default as for my not-so-young eyes it is easier to read.
Can anyone give a definitive answer to this problem?
Regards
