How misleading that title is. I came here expecting to comment that at least he wasn't preying on little children, or someone else's wife. :rolleyes:

Hebrews 12:6-11 - he may or may not need chastening, that's not my place to judge...

but, the Bible also says

Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

That makes me want to throw up!
The worst part is that the church will back him up, and those who don't will be ostracized as trouble makers not having faith in their pastor.:rolleyes:

What really gets me is when and 'innocent' pastor accused of this crime will plead guilty to 'get off on a lesser sentencing to save his family' sniff sniff. SO, it's better to lie and get a lesser sentence than to honestly say 'I'm innocent' and proclaim it no matter what.

(and you wonder why I don't go to church any more!)
 
Plenty of gay parsons in most mainstream denominations.

To be honest, I don't love gay or female parsons. But I roll my eyes when nice liberals say EWWWW at gay Evangelicals. The attitude stinks. Burn them all in Hell or leave them all alone.
 
Preachers are only loosers making money off people who have been brain washed into believing in the Bible. Of course most are gay.
 
There is a word for people who live off the charitable gifts of others. Religious leaders don't get it applied to themselves nearly often enough.
 
This is how it will play out.

God sent this disaster to wipe out the the unclean from our neighborhoods. Obviously since I survived I am now the chosen one. Our neighborhoods must be rebuilt to show our faith in God. Send the checks to me. If you don't have the cash to prove your faith we accept Visa and Mastercard.

I can't tell you how many times I have thought about doing this. Especially after hearing the televangelists say"how can you expect God to help you if you won't send the $1000 seed money to me. Can't afford it? Use your credit card. God is looking for some upfront money to prove your faith."

I do have a tiny bit of humanity so I passed.

There is the difference. Humanity, compassion, common decency - all weaknesses I don't have!

At least the church and God react in the same way to child molesting... so they're consistent

I'm not religious either. In saying that:

By the same token, atheists have been brainwashed into believing that everything in the Universe is random and chaos. Yet even Einstein disagreed on that.
