Another computer question

Fortunately my problem isn't nearly as bad as the last one. Anyway, my problem is that IE is the only program on my computer that can access the internet. This is mostly an annoyance, but I use MSN IM and I don't get to speak to some of my friends very often in any other way. Anyone know what could be causing this and how I fix it?

if you open a different browser and plug in a website, what happens? MSN IM shouldnt have any play on what browser you can use.

I'm not sure I understand. IE works fine. All other programs, when said programs try to access the internet, do not.

OK, a few questions:

you're using your computer at home, i assume? are you using dial-up or broadband? if you're using broadband, do you have a router or firewall installed? other applications may need to be configured to follow IE's firewall or proxy settings.

Yeah, Sounds like they don't have firewall permission.
