Probably not for mine, they won't. The only votes I seem to lose in the sweeps are usually 5's. The Lords of the Troll Sweeps seem to like my 1's, it seems. But that's ok. A famous author out there likes my work. :D and so does my mom...tee hee.

I'm thinking whoever the troll is probably found Santa AND a few elves in his bed. Well, I hope his wife enjoyed herself. At least someone ought to get something out of it.
Your Mum reads your stuff?? My Mum would freak out and kill me if she knew what i wrote! She would need to be quick tho - my Dad would try and beat her to it!!

As for the famous author fan - cool! Who is it???

 I'll never tell... ;)

And my mother is the only one who has ever encouraged me to write. She's been standing behind me on this since I was 11. I don't think she ever thought I would take it to this extreme but she thinks it's great--especially since my first shorts come out in print in February. :nana:

My mom has read 3 of my longer novelish stories. She liked the story, but the sex was too hard core for her. lol. . .My dad has one read one story, he never commented to me about it. . .lol... One sister has read several SRP's and a few stories I wrote, another has read a couple stories, but stopped because she says getting aroused by her sister's work is wrong... the final sister, she won't discuss them with me at all. lol

I wouldn;t dare show my stuff to my parents - they would honestly shit-a-brick! I supppose the ideal scenario would be where your family was happy to proof-read/edit your work, as well as be available as a sounding board for idea's. Guess that would be a fairly rare family.

My family knows. None approve, exactly. Nor disapprove, exactly.

Are they not pleased for you that you are going to be published?

Yes. But they'd rather I did something normal, like a children's book.

Or better yet get a proper job.

Hmm families. Don;t you just love em? My Dad is still harbouring disappointment that I didn't become a Lawyer or Accountant. I figure one day he'll get over it...

I enjoy writing so much, there was no way I could have kept my mouth shut to my family. My husband doesn't read my stories and thinks the poems a waste of time, but he knows I write them and knows I enjoy them. He however doesn't want his parents to know or anyone on his side of the family. We have two outside friends that know and my kids know mom writes stories that are for adults only.

Mine's better now. But growing up he made sure he thought I'd fail at anything I set my hand to. Sigh.

My husband can't be troubled to read them. It was the subject of a nasty fight but I won. I told him if he wanted to be around for the fantastic ride I'm about to go on, he had better start showing me a little support. I think it was the first time he actually realized that I'm going to make it in the business and that I intend to take it to the top. He decided to stick around for the wild ride... :catroar:

My husband has benefited.;) lol... but he'd like me to write calmer stuff. He has supported me as far as writing itself, just not wanting to read it or tell his parents. He bought me the laptop and offered to by me a newer one this Christmas, (this one is only a year old...lol)

My middle daughter knows i write - she thinks it is cool. She is desperate to read what I write and I feel quite mean not being able to let her! Eldest daughter doesn't give a damn what I do as long as it doesn't affect her  and youngest son is too young to be interested. My middle daughter wants to be a writer too - and she does write stuff now.
If i had a partner, i would hope he would be supportive of my writing. My last b/f was very supportive, he loved reading my stories and always encouraged me to push myself further. Sadly he is not around now.

Mine want me to write a story they can read. So I am going to try that. The eldest loves fantasy, she's 12 almost 13, the second daughter loves Historical fiction focusing on kids her age, and the son likes.... well... anything ninja, or StarWars. lol.

I started a story about a pony <lol> but never finished it. I should really - middle daughter loved it. I don't envy you writing about ninja warriors! I would have to give that a miss... Fantasy is cool though, as is historical stuff. Give it a whirl !! :D

You are very fortunate. Mine is jealous because he has to go to work every day. I keep telling him if he hadn't guilted me into going back to work 7 years ago when I was last laid off, I would already be rich and famous and he would be living the good life. That shuts his mouth pretty quick.

I found a great set of books for that age-range--Tales of the Frog Princess by ED Baker. It's hysterical. I started reading the stories to my daughter but discovered she's a bit young for them.

We have come a long way in the past year. But work issues were decided a long time ago. He wants me to be home with the kids, so he's always worked. I did for about 3 mths during the 13 years we were married, then he got a better paying job and had me quit. I am fortunate in that regard.

I know I've heard of that series before.

My husband has discovered that his little wifey has changed a bit since becoming a mother. I don't really give a crap what he thinks about what I do. When I told him I'm going into print next year he nearly shit a blue bean. He actually didn't think I could do it--the ass. He knows better now... LOL. Now, if I can just sell Shelter, I wouldn't need to work outside the home another day.

I wish you all the luck in the world. :D :D :D I am going to try and concentrate this next year on getting published. I have sold some poems to a aural company, but I'd like to have my Horatio series published. We'll see.

Well, Red, I wish you all the luck as well. I hope we all get new publishing deals in the new year.... :nana: Go Literoticans!!!!

Dear Trolls

You win! I might have to write Laurel or the other Powers of Literotica and ask them to pull Shelter from the Storm off the site. Yeah, I know it's not all posted yet, but you have spoken and you no longer wish to see the end. I think the 11 one-bombs in the wee hours pretty much says it all. You have taken me from scores in the four-nineties to 4.16.

Thank you for telling me that you hate me, even though I know the work is good. Thank you for belittling me, even though I cannot imagine how I have offended you. From now on, if you wish to tear my stories apart, you will have to pay for them.

Fuck you very much,

SweetWitch

PS. Make that 14 one-bombs.

PSS Now we're up to 20 .

Hurrah for Red and a reminder to SweetWitch that you can't give in to the trolls. The moment that they smell blood in the water....they behave like sharks. A fucking feeding frenzy. I know what's it like to be trolled....sucks rhino cock. Hugs for both of you.

That's really vicious but try to ignore it. It's obvious you've got a huge following for that story and someone's petty campaign against you doesn't change that. The votes will get worked out later but they're not important anyway. What's important is you've got a hungry audience begging for more.

Thanks, Max. It's just that I went through all this petty child's play over twenty-five years ago--IN HIGH SCHOOL. I'm too old to put up with it now. I'm in the process of requesting a formal review of my votes. If that doesn't help, I'm going to take my ball and go home. I'm up to 20 bombs, all within the past 3 hours. I think someone needs to grow the hell up.

It will be sad if that following has to wait and pay for the ending to the story, eh?

Thanks, all.
