WTF???? Spend a week in NYC in DECEMBER and you'll find the we have more passion for the Yankees at that time of the year than most teams get during the baseball season.

And Jeter's going home and polish his many W.S. rings. If the Giants lose to the Braves, can they say the same. Hardly.

I would agree that the Yankees get tons of fan support within they're own area but they are quite possibly one of the most hated teams across the country. One needs only to look at the subway series from a few years ago, the lowest rated series in history, only NY watched.

For the first time since 1997 I am looking forward to a WS and loving it!!

The Dodgers are also a very rich team but they choose to not buy they're WS wins. No big deal, I don't fault the Yankees I'm just happy when they lose and I look forward to watching the WS without a Yankee team in it.

I totallly agree, talent and coaching do have to do with it. My point was when you outspend every other team because you can out spend them then you have more talent and when you have more talent you have "better" coaching. What the Yankees do is not rocket science, they are able to outspend every other team and they do, great, I would too if I were in their shoes.

The thread started as "and the Yankees lost" all I was doing was applauding that and stated how this year, instead of having to wait to see who was going to face the Yankees as to whether I would enjoy it more so than last year, I knew I was going to enjoy it just because I was not going to be watching the Yankees. I am well aware there are teams out there that are capable of spending with NY but choose not to. And, every couple of years a team with as much talent as the Yankees comes along, bfd. It still does not take away from the fact that I like watching the Yankees get beat.

i didnt realize the yankees bought their way into the world series. but they are one of the oldest teams. and if they move them to another state will that mean they no longer will have money?
