On a message board like this a "troll" is someone who reads through the threads and posts with the specific intention of starting arguements.

Here at Lit, however there is a second meaning. Here a troll is also someone who opens stories with the intentions of voting low scores on them just for laughs. They do this because the can vote anonymously and never have to accept responsibility.

Sometimes a troll will take a particular disliking to and author and simply vote 1s on ALL their stories. This is known as "1-bombing".

Then there are the really strange cases, for instance:

English Muffin Loves to troll ChilledVodka's stories. CV hates her for it. But English Muffin is an alternate identity of CV's. Therefore CV is trolling his own stories and being pissed at everyone because he is doing it. Just read some of his stories and you'll understand that better.
