Currently working on a story of a threesome, told from all three veiwpoints. Oh my aching head. (No not that one, it just aches after my wife reads what I have written so far in the story.) Has anyone else tried this? (The three viewpoints?)

I did in a personal work for some freinds. It's not as easy as one would think. Look on the bright side, if there was a mal & female involved you could at least use personal pronouns, :)

Only kind of. I wrote a novel from a total of eleven different perspectives, but never more than one at the time, a chapter or only a few paragraphs, then switching to the next. Sometimes ever trtelling the same event from several perspectives.

Still trying to sout out a few confusions that a publisher suggested. If I make it, it might even hit publication, although the odds are against it - quite conservative market over here. But you never know.

But to write from several POVs at the same time, with an omnipresent narrator. Could work, but I'm too much of a chicken to try it. :)

just a thought

i never have written a story that complex.. maybe one day when i grow up.. however i was thinking about this and it brought to mind a movie that came out recently.. Love Actually. the story is told from many different POV's. maybe you could get some tie in ideas from it..
best wishes!

Good luck is all I can say. I've written a foursome, and a couple of threesomes. But always from the view of one character mainly. Writing from so many POVs would just spin my head and I kind of feel that it would spin the average readers head as well. But if you pull it off I'm sure more than a few fellow authors will be giving you cudos. Well done group sex stories are very complex to write and take a lot of planning, time and editing .....

The one at my editor now, and actually for quite some time now, is third person omniscient but switches effortlessly from emphasis on one to another. When I do it, I just stay strictly chronological so the reader doesn't lose track.

If a particular moment is mostly about one character, but the next seems to be most interesting from another, then I swapped heads, as it were. It seems to me to read right along all right.

It's a threesome, too, through a lot of its first half.

cantdog

I'd show it to you but the ass has been a long time with it.

I agree that to write one perspective at a time is the easy and less convoluted route, yet I believe that everything is possible. What I have done in the past, and it would be easy to do with multiple characters, is one event, and with each perspective take the story back a bit, feeding off the previous action, then continue forward to the obviously multiple climax.

Of course, I prefer 1st person perspectives, but that's just me.

Aside: Hm, congrats Liar . . . all good things come in more ways than one. ;) You have the talent, so wishing all the luck.

Thanks for the confidence there. But ya know, only a select few here have actually seen anything I've written, except poems.

So who knows, it might just suck. :)

Now just wait a moment there Liar, just because I have only read some poetry, posts and been to the above mentioned site, doesn't mean my confidence in you is misleading . . . anyone can write anything, but talent remains with those of a poetic heart in my humble opinion, and being published remains with those who don't give up :D

If your story 'sucks', well, in the world of the erotic, if it doesn't there is something terribly wrong.

I remain confident that you will 'suck' ;) to the best of your ability.

:p

I have one of those scenes to write in Chapter 12 of Assigned Risk - A MMFF foursome that turns into a MMMFF fivesome with the addition of a late arrival at the end..

Not looking forward to writing it..

It's turning out to be a little complicated, from keeping dialogue correct etc. Other than that not too too hard, just longer than I had anticipated. Oh well.
I'm trying to keep it as easy to follow as possible, having each character describe what they are seeing, feeling etc before changing the scene/action. It is kind of fun to write though, keeping each characters personality seperate from the others is interesting to say the least. We'll see how it turns out. If I decide not to post it on Lit. I may break it up and post it here, or offer it through E-Mails to anyone interested in it.
Raphy, your scene gave me a headache just thinking about it. Good luck.

Dear Chuck,
Now that is a pithy statement. Wish I'd thought of it.
Admiringly,
