I have a slight twang to my voice, or (as you said) so I'm told. Other then that, I think my voice fits in where I'm at. I'm a sucker for a nice deep british accent, though.... makes me feel all nasty and naughty...

Perking at this..I am 100% English..and people here in CA can tell that I am too lol..

I have a nice Italian New yourk Accent according to the Texas ladies and I have a nice southern accent according to the NY ladies

it depends on my frame of mind. i have a new york accent but lots of people tell me i like, speak valley without realising it.

You stand no chance. In the south, they add syllables: red becomes ray-ud. In Baltimore they remove them: Baltimore, for instance, becomes Baldmo

You'd stand a better chance of blending in with the locals in Peking.

He speaks the truth -- even when he's imbibing his beverage of choice, he make more sense than most of us put together.

I have a VERY distinctive Southern Drawl. When I was younger it would embarrass me to no end as to how many people would call in to my company just to hear my voice. ( I worked for a major catalog ordering center).

Now that I am older, I love the attention. When someone in Lit Chat finds out Im a Southerner, they just about kill themselves to get me on the phone. (Only a few have succeeded *wink*)

People frequently email me comments on my soft Southern belle's voice and how they love the accent and the south. Then they try to place the state. Usually Mississippi or Alabama.

Well, I hate to break it to them, but I'm from Alaska and my accent was acquired through overexposure to a group of relatives. I sound like CNN news anchor most of the time, but when I'm nervous that hick just goes for the jugular.

I know a lot of people can't wade through my hick accent without a transcript. Well, Texans can.

I tell you what.

Now that I've been back in Jersey City a few days, I'm pure Carmella Soprano. But catch me in 2 weeks once I'm back in London and it will all be sounding a bit 'clipped'.

I think my accent is Californian or something -- it's the Western accent that isn't really Western, you know? People think western and hear cowboys with their Texas drawls, but that's not true anymore. So yeah, I guess I'm a Valley girl of sorts.
