This morning I was woken by one of my kittens. Scrapper had decided to sneak under the covers last night and had fallen asleep at the foot of the bed.

Well Scrapper is one o those strange Cats, she has this inate time sense, she likes to wake me at 0459, just a minute before the alarm goes off. Normally this is not a problem, but this time it turned out to be painful for me.

Scrapper, maybe sensing she was going to be late for her wake up call took off from a laying start towards the head of the bed as fast as she can. She attempts to leap over the obstruction in front of her, but being under a blanket as well as a Comforter is impeded so she crashes into said obstruction.

Well let me tell you, when a five pound cat, moving as fast as she can crashes into your groin when you are sound asleep you wake up quick.

May you all be thankfull you did not wake up this morning the way I did.

:cathappy:

Priceless.

If I may share a hubby moment? A kitten we had once left claw marks on my hubby's bare behind while he and I were seriously engaged.

Apparently the kitty was attracted by the up and down movements?

Kitty pounced hard. I enjoyed the resultant thrust, but hubby was not pleased.

Sounds like my cats, we have to make sure to clear the bedroom before we have any fun. I have the scars to prove they are attracted to strange movements.

Yes, we learned the hard way.

Remove the cats, lock the damn door.

My cats brought a rat in yesterday. A beautiful, sleek, healthy, uninjured, and batshit terrified young brown rat. I really like rats. The are smart and dexterous and elegant little critters.
Me and my son broomed it out the door, although it felt that under any piece of furniture would be preferable to out on the patio, with nine fascinated cats waiting for it.

My cats are good with mice and voles, but they were not sure how to tackle this big guy. I don't know how he fared, and i am just glad nokitty showed up with a bitten face.

You can all feel grateful that a) you are not a rat ringed by cats, and/or b) that you don't host my clowder of wussies.
:D

Sorry for the pain but you can be thankful it wasn't your eye. My sister once had a cat pounce with it's claws on her eye when she was in REM. Ouch. She got lucky.
