I am not an alarmist, but this I take note of. We may be living in the best of times for humans and the planet as a whole. Earth is usually either too cold or too warm for many species to survive and thrive. There are regions of the US that where covered in oceans, and then later covered in ice. During the last 10,000 years temperatures have been unusually temperate. This is changing.

Actually, during the last 10,000 years, the earth's temperature has fluctuated at what we should normally expect. It hasn't been unusual at all.

Having read this they seem pretty confident that they can back engineer antibiotics to any of those bacteria and we just have to keep an eye on them and make sure nobody touches them except the scientists who need them to make the antibiotics.

So I'm not like, super worried. But I don't live in Siberia where there are old nasty corpses under the ice melting and spreading their old germs around so they might be more worried than I am, because they're the ones actually at risk of getting sick. It's pretty easy to say a problem with a solution isn't a big deal when it's not affecting you. Waiting on those antibiotics while you're dieing on an ancient plague would be a really big deal if you happened to be the unlucky guy who stumbled on it.

The written record means nothing since they couldn't write down what they didn't know.
Temps are gathered from a variety of places including ice, trees, dead folks, rocks, etc.
You have to make an effort to know things. It's why you and Candi and AJ are all so different yet also so equally fucking stupid.
