Donovan shifted his gun and crouched as he looked down the dark entrance, he looked around him and wondered where the rest of the excavation was, their equipment was here, but it seems like everybody's footprints lead right down into this entrance carved into the rock formation, leading deeper underground.

"This is Delta Golf niner, I am on site, no friendlies, no bogeys, situation seems SNAFU, over"

There was a short pause

"Roger that Delta Golf niner, stand by"

He walked around, there was enough food, so maybe he could have a snack some time as it was clear he would be here for a long time. The details was a bit sketchy, but what he knew was that a group of international scientists and archeologists was sent here after a low flying satellite picked up a disturbance in the area and sent back photos of the area. They could make out what seemed like an entrance to a temple and got the team together to inspect.

"Delta Golf niner, proceed with mission, find and retrieve assets if possible, over"

"Roger that, Delta out"

He shifted his weapon and entered through the entrance, flicking on the flashlight mounted on the side of his gun as he steadily and stealthily walked down the stairs.

The Ner'uda shuttle headed down through the layers of Earth's atmosphere.

Earth itself had been long ago visited by the Yautja peoples, and proved to be a valuable training ground every few hundred or thousand years. This time the visit was of more importance than simply training a new generation of warriors. A beacon had been received from inside one of the deeply hidden training pyramids. As humans would call it, the location of this facility was deep underneath one of the more wild regions of the Amazon Rainforest. Originally constructed close by to the first human colonies to accept the Yautja as true gods. They had been a staging point for the strengthening of the clans. The planet itself was changed now, man was widespread and had quickly made itself the dominant creatures. As far as they knew at least.

There were many training facilities still unused on Earth. But for now the only alert beacon came from the Amazonian one. The tomb had been opened, and if the situation wasn't controlled then the human colonies would have an apocalyptic problem on their hands.

That would not do. Little did the humans know, but the Yautja wanted no more for them to be wiped out than they would a sustainable crop to die from flooding. The Yautja watched over the humans, especially in affairs that involved xenomorphs. The Yautja still waged war on the spreading parasites, each planet cleansed two more showed up infested. Entire worlds were being destroyed just to stem the spread. Luckily Earth had not reached that stage.

The drop ship plummeted towards the surface of the planet, and impacted with such speed that it dug it's way under the ground several meters. Essentially covering it's presence. There was a small entry wound in the earth so that the contents of the shuttle could escape though.

After several minutes, the doors opened and five young female Yautja exited the drop ship. A hunting party, there to claim kills and bring stability back to the facility that would soon train up the male Yautja that would protect the birthing females. Female Yautja off world were not the most common, but it was not against the clan's rules. They were just seen as more valuable protected in colonies. This group were in their own training, to take on 'Alpha' female. An honoured position only given to those females that proved their ability to protect the survival of the clan through looking after the breeding females. Hence why a handful were worth the risk, in order to gain an honoured, warrior Matriarch.

=======

It had been several hours since the drop ship landed, and in that time the group of females had crossed through the jungle and found the entryway into the underground training facility. There were many human tracks leading down, many lives to create the chain reaction of a xenomorph outbreak.

Yu'ja Mae'ka'jo was already leading to become the alpha female. And as such it was obvious that she took lead. With a snarl she headed off down the oddly carved stairwell. Active camouflage on and visual aids scanning.

Donovan could have sworn that he heard something coming from the entrance, but when it didn't repeat itself he continued down the stairs.

"Should have had a team, not just myself"

"That's because you're so awesome"

He smiled at the voice in his ear

"Shouldn't listen to guys talking to themselves Ghost"

Of course there was no reply, just one response from her was enough to remind you to keep radio silence unless it's needed. At the foot of the long staircase with the strange pictures cut into the walls he found the equipment. A quick check showed that the generator was still working, so he started it up and after a few seconds floodlights flooded the area, most of them focused on something that looked like the entrance to a temple. He activated his commlink's camera, which sent a direct feed to HQ

"You getting this Ghost?"

"Roger that Delta, it corresponds with images sent out by the team, any signs of friendlies yet? Over"

"Negative, all prints leads to the entrance, I am not sure why the whole group would head down here, but I'll be heading in shortly after an proper exploration, over"

"Roger that Delta, proceed with mission, over"

"Delta out"

He spent a few minutes studying the area, from what he could gather it looked like they had received a call to go into the temple as far as he knows the only thing that would lead to that is when something interesting was found. During his search he heard a high pitched sound which definitely wasn't human, he scanned the area, but didn't see anything, he thought about switching on his thermal scanner on the scope of the rifle, but decided if he couldn't see it, it wasn't there unless he was going blind. When he was sure that there was nobody inside the cavern he headed up the steps to the entrance of the Temple, keeping a sharp eye out as there was lights set up on the inside as well.

Location: Tunnel leading to Temple entrance.

The Yautja were surprisingly slow as they moved down the tunnel, but the reason was due to the thoroughness they took setting up laser nets at one hundred meter intervals. After they passed through, the nets were activated. The red beams visible in the darkness. Anything that tried to run through would end up in tiny bits of meat, an instant death. On top of the laser nets, they had also been vigilant towards the checking of any tracks in the area. So far there were no signs of xenomorph activity, only the footsteps of many humans. One of the tracks showed an individual of more recent arrival. A human male, weighing in at around four hundred pounds. He walked much differently than the others. They had moved with relative lack of care, he moved as though the rocks might jump out at him.

He had the tracks of a warrior.

Yu'ja crouched down, examining a single footprint of his, before looking up as the tunnel became lit by the excavation teams lights. Rising from her position, she took off at a jog. Someone else was still alive down there. And that meant that any moment now they might stumble upon the key to starting the chain of events to awaken the dormant Queen.

When they reached the opening that led into the Temple itself, there was a lot of foreign containers around. And the lights were more prevalent here. The area around them was clear and Yu'ja switched off her active camouflage so she could bring up the schematics of the temple. The hologram showed a typical pyramid shape, with many levels, and the extent of the chambers and mazes of tunnels. At the bottom of this temple lay the Queens chamber, and above that the sacrificial chamber where human hosts would be taken.

Back in the old times, the humans of this region worshiped Yu'ja's clan as if they were gods. It was one of the reasons she was drawn to this particular quest.

There were many active life signs in the temple. One not far from them, and the majority of others minus a few strays seemed to be congregated only a level off the sacrificial chamber. There was little time to waste. It would take hours to get down there. And the temple was already active. Someone had already set off the trigger to awaken the Queen.

There was a low clicking growl as Yu'ja cursed the situation, "C'jit!"
*

Turning to her sisters, she waved her hand at the entrance to the temple. "M-di H'dlak..."**

They moved off down the stairs that led into the Pyramid, and Yu'ja reactivated her active camouflage, third in line.

[Translation: *Damn! **No fear]

Donovan Gray

There was lights everywhere, lighting up the walls and columns, they were clearly making a thorough inventory as well as catalog judging from the amount and type of equipment abandoned. The Windows start up tone almost got one Field PC blown to bits, Donovan took a deep breath, something was up

"Ghost this is Delta Gray niner do you copy?"

The only reply he got was static and he frowned, he started to backtrack, trying to establish communication, without knowing he almost bumped into the last female of the group of Yuatja, he did notice a movement and just as he was about to bring his gun to bear...

"Delta Gray niner this is Ghost do you read over?"

"Ghost, Delta here, it seems like the building blocks out signal, over"

"Please hold...Delta you are to check in and give updates if permitted by signal, over"

"Roger that Ghost, Delta out"

With that he turned back and walked deeper into the temple, following the lights that was set up, as he wondered where the hell 38 people just disappear to. He felt like a lamb led to slaughter as he noticed that it seemed that there was no branches or any other corridors, he also judged that the floor was elevating as he moved.

"Like the ramp leading into an abattoir"

He frowned as he noticed the current hallway leading into a dark room, there was a broken floodlamp stand lying on the ground and he could make out more stands inside the room, which looked like it had a bunch of altars inside. He stopped at the fallen floodlamp and saw that it was basically crushed and the power cord was cut off, the indentation in the ground looked like some kind of door closed down from the ceiling and looking up, he switched on the flashlight and saw the definite lines of a very thick door. He lowered the flashlight and noticed strange marks where the door should have slid down, he was no expert in languages, but he had common sense, these markings was definitely different from the glyphs he saw on his way here. Very cautiously he moved forward, he noticed a crack in the ground, he stopped and shone his light on it, it was rectangular...

"Must be a switch of some kind"

He sidestepped it and started to inspect the room and what appeared to be altars, on each altar an egg shaped object was still present, but they were open, just one remained closed. Donovan noticed that these eggs was covered in what seemed some sort of slime.

"What the fuck are you? Bug eggs?"

When the egg started to shake at the sound of his voice, he immediately brought his gun up, at the same moment the egg split open. Donovan waited, just as it seem like nothing is going to happen, a white spider form exploded from the egg, he had time to pull the trigger twice, sending two 20x28 mm explosive tip rounds slamming into it, bursting it open in a shower of yellow ichor. Donovan quickly swept the room for more movement, but his flashlight revealed nothing

"Let's get these damned lights online"

Walking back to the entrance he inspected the cables, pulling on his gloves and brandishing his multi tool, he set to the task of cleaning the cables and joining them, working carefully as he did not like the jolt of 220V running through his system looking for a place to ground itself. As he connected the last set of wires he was covered in sparks, but using the pliers he twisted the cables together and using adhesive bandages from his first aid kit he wrapped up the naked wires to prevent them from touching.

"Right time to go on"

He stood up and readying his gun, he re-entered the room to inspect the thing that came from the egg shaped thing on what seemed now like stone beds

The soldier was unaware of the Yautja that followed him down to the sacrificial chamber. One of the sisters had been about to gut him with her wrist blade, but Yu'ja had stopped her. He would be the bait. But only because he knew not what he was walking into, and she hoped he wouldn't be as aware of the dangers to be careful like they themselves were. The xenomorphs would be drawn to his footsteps, to the sound of his gear clicking occasionally and to anything he spoke. They were silent, and avoided drawing attention to themselves.

He had found the chamber quickly, following the tracks that dotted the ground. And they had arrived as he had been in the process of killing one of the xenomorph impregnators. They moved around the room, studying each of the sacrificial beds. Droplets of blood could be found near one or two of them, but no bodies were present. This did show that the Queen was producing eggs again though, which meant that the situation was getting more complex every moment.

Soon the human returned, and they watched him. Keeping an eye on the surroundings, and on the chambers in case they began moving again. He was unusual. Alone. Most interactions with humans showed them to be heard animals, congregating together for safety. But this was didn't.

Somewhere off to the right of the chamber something moved, the sound of carapace on stone barely audible. But it was there. Yu'ja switched over her visual to a range capable of picking up the xenomorph signature. Whatever it was, it had moved on quickly.

Donovan scanned the environment, there was two exits, only one showed any marks of people passing through it. He started down the corridor and heard a faint sound ahead, he smiled to himself, it seemed that this old building was playing with his mind, but he knew better than to just open fire on every sound he heard. He kept moving as silently as he could, to any human ears he would be soundless, but human ears could not hear the grinding of a footstep in thick dust. He came to an open door to his left and entered carefully, he found the bodies of three people here, their chests showed exit trauma, but when Donovan turned them over he could not find any entrance wounds, strange marks led away from the bodies and he followed them to what seemed like draining holes in the walls. He was in a crouching position when he heard a sound behind him, he twisted around, his weapon tracking for movement...yet nothing showed up in the beam of his flashlight, he just shook his head and left the room, following the corridor, finding dead bodies in rooms dotted along the way. It was clear that there was no survivors, but what killed them was unclear as each and every one had chest trauma but no other visible wounds. He stopped and wondered if he should head back top side and make his report as clearly all assets was dead, but there was still information here that would probably have to get state side. It was then he noticed that a wall seemed to move, he blinked his eyes and the wall seemed normal again, he grinned, must be jet lag, a good night's rest would probably sort that out.

Why the xenomorph chose that exact moment to attack it wasn't sure, but the prey have been leading it around long enough. Donovan heard the movement at the entrance of the room he was in and almost froze at what he saw, his gun came up with trained reflex and a split second later explosive bullets slammed into the hide of the thing, sending a yellow green substance splashing into the walls, he ceased fire and the beast came at him again

"Well fuck me"

Donovan sent the remaining 23 rounds directly into the creatures head and it fell at his feet, it's tail swishing around and then it shuddered and died. Donovan noticed that where the substance was splashed acrid steam was rising, what the fuck was this thing? Donovan reloaded and cocked the gun, then made sure that the 5 20mm round magazine was also loaded. Could this thing have been what killed all the people in the group?

It was unfortunate that many xenomorph young had already hatched, they would grow fast and could already have been of formidable size. They followed the human male down a corridor, and watched what he would do. When the xenomorph had attacked, one of the sisters had charged forward only to be blocked by Yu'ja. She shook her head, before turning back to watch the warrior fight. By right of being 'chosen' for the fight, she would not intervene in his combat. If he died, so be it. But considering he survived the fight, he had claimed his first kill. It was a noble start to his life. In their society he would be considered an adult now.

Off to his right though, something scurried through a tube before flinging itself through the air. Taking off, Yu'ja unwrapped the whip she carried and flicked it through the air, the white flesh of a face hugger quickly falling from the air. It's blood showed the end of the whip, and within moments, Yu'ja herself turned off her active camouflage.

"Ooman," she spoke, standing a good five or six meters away from him.

She looked from him to the kill, and bowed her head slightly. In acknowledgment that it was indeed his kill. The plasma caster on her shoulder remained vigilant, in case this human turned the weapon held onto her. With her mask on she seemed less imposing, but none the less it was obvious she was not of this world.

Her sisters remained hidden from him, that was until one of them screeched in pain. Turning to see what had happened, another xenomorph was perched on a shelf halfway up the wall. An access tunnel ran off that. Her sister had been slack, and for that she had been impaled by a xenomorph tail. Yu'ja's plasma cannon quickly changed targets, blasting the creature back down the access tunnel. Her sister fell to the ground, the active camouflage turning off, to reveal the extent of her injuries.

He was busy studying the dead creature when a flicker caught his eye, he looked up to see a creature that easily topped eight feet, with lizard like skin and what seemed like dreadlocks on a face that obviously was a mask which made it look like a snake. It obviously had the drop on him and he knew he could not move nearly fast enough

"Ooman"

What? Ooman? Wait Human? A screech and the creature twisted towards the sound a blue ball of energy blasting from it's shoulder to blast another creature that looked like the one he just killed. Another flicker and a creature dropped down, a piercing wound through it's chest, not lethal, but Donovan knew that it would hurt like a sunuvabitch. He stayed where he was, he had no intention of angering a creature who obviously was more advanced and powerful and who definitely was not alone. He shifted his gun to a ready position, but kept it trained to the ground, he had a strange idea that the creature was armed with plasma weapons, the weapons that was now only on testing phase and Top Secret. Thinking about all the rumors he heard in the top echelons these creatures seemed to correspond to information that was gotten from several sources. The thing he killed would be the enemies of the cloaked ones, the so called demons, he took a deep breathe, he was basically in a war zone, with limited ammunition and no back up. He studied the creature before him, it somehow seemed different to the ones described by survivors...almost...feminine? Well judging from her build and the twin swells on her chest that would probably be why he thought of it as female. So he knew what she was, an off worlder, an alien from another planet. She did speak a sort of word, wondered if she understood English

"Who are you?"

Moving over to her sister, Yu'ja looked down upon her and studied her wounds. Snarling, she pulled the Yautja up onto her feet and gave her a punch in the shoulder. An obvious sign of her being annoyed at the display of weakness. With a few native words, she turned back to the human and stepped forwards. He spoke words to her, and she listened for a moment. Her walk slightly heavy.

Thumping her chest, she replied, "Yu'ja."

There was no further effort made to communicate with the human after that. Instead, she looked down at the dead xenomorph and crouched down. Ripping it's head off now that the acidic blood no longer had an effect. She ripped it's spine and the contents of it's brain out, offering him the skull after a quick snapping of the vertebrae.

It was no use wasting the kill, if he wouldn't take it as his trophy.

Stepping away, she looked down the hallway that led towards the other humans. If they hurried they might kill the young before they burst free of the incubators. Or humans. Same thing. With a few clicks of her speaking to her sisters, she moved off down the hallway. Turning to look back at him, and saying a word slowly.

"Oomans."

"Yu'ja"

A bit difficult on the tongue, but not impossible to pronounce, Donovan watched in fascination as she ripped off the creature's head and removed the contents, before offering what was left to him, not wanting to offend her, he took it and while she was conversing with the others which he could still only see one of, he lashed it to the back of his vest. A trophy, how interesting. He watched as she walked down the hallway and then stopped and turned to him, speaking one word

"Oomans"

There was more than one in the direction she was leading, he nodded and started after her, he switched off the flashlight as it may irritate or interrupt their sight and switched the scope on his rifle to 1X zoom in night vision, he wasn't suppose to see anything as it was pitch black, but the new technology used a sort of ultraviolet ray, powered by a battery that charged through kinetic energy and it allowed him to see clearly as he followed Yu'ja down the hallway, he looked forward and saw more forms, so they are visible, just not very easy to see. Every now and then he heard faint scratching sounds, but it did not seem to bother Yu'ja or her companions, their body language did seem to change slightly as they approached a larger opening to what would have been a much larger room, Donovan heard a sound behind him and turned, there was nothing at ground level, but when he lifted his scope he saw movement of some sort against the ceiling, he flicked on the light and there was another of the creatures, fluorescent green blood dripped from the tip of it's tail and Donovan knew that it was tracking the creature it had hurt earlier, how could it not be dead? Donovan opened fire, the bullets digging into the head and sending the creature's blood splattering in all directions

Taking a look backwards, Yu'ja was finding the low tech projectile weaponry worked well against the softer shells of the xenomorph dome. It seemed as though this human was intent on building up quite the kill count. Showing off maybe? Leaving him to deal with his creature, she gave one of the sisters a command before moving forward again. The other Yautja that he could see moved back and set up a laser net, the red lines coming to life. Picking up a rock that looked to be part of the ceiling, she tossed it through the net for the human to observe. Immediately the rock was cut into neat squares. With a snarl she moved on ahead again, catching up with the group.

They had entered the large room, where more humans were sitting up against the sacrificial tables. Walking over, she began to scan them. Giving out her own growl when she saw they had already been inseminated with eggs. Stepping backwards, she moved to the next. Again the egg had been planted in their esophagus.

"No time," she explained to the human male. Pointing to their chests, and the already pulsating movement inside them.

One of the humans woke up across the room and began to scream in pain. The cracking of ribs audible. It was hatching. Moving over quickly, she waited a few more seconds before the humans chest burst open with explosive force. The young xenomorph's head flicked about, letting out its own scream. Grabbing it by the neck, Yu'ja ripped it from the body and held it up. Showing the human male before snapping it's neck. Dropping it on the sacrificial table, she turned to the other humans. Waiting for them to undergo the same occurrence. She wouldn't let these young become free.

Yu'ja knew how sentimental these humans could be. Having encountered them before, just not on this continent. If this human was going to cause problems, it would be now at the sight of what was about to happen. It seemed another human had woken, his chest beginning to press out. Again, he screamed.

Looking around, Yu'ja spoke to her sisters, who immediately moved to cover the entrances to the room. Just in case the screams brought the attention of the Queens servants.

The creature fell from the ceiling and tried to charge, but Donovan had followed it's descent and punched more holes into it, killing the thing. He took a breath and looked as Yu'ja demonstrated her trap, he nodded his understanding and followed her into the chamber, which seemed to be a carbon copy of the first one, just here were humans still on the stone beds.

"No time"

He didn't quite catch it, but when the male screamed and the thing burst from his chest he understood very quickly. Another scream and she snarled something, he detected movement and when Yu'ja killed another of the creatures he knew what he had to do. He had to save the people the obvious pain that they were going through and their screams might draw unwanted attention. Shifting his gun, he drew one of his Desert Eagles and leveled it at the chest of the nearest person and pulled the trigger, the .50 slug ripped through the guy's chest and left a very nasty effect behind, not sure that he actually killed the thing and remembering what his instructor told him about making sure he fired another shot, just half an inch lower, if anything was hiding away he was sure that it would be dead now. He moved from one sleeping form to the other, shooting them all in the chest, he came to the last person and as he reloaded, she woke up, screaming, he saw her chest starting to bulge outwards, he quickdrawed his other Desert Eagle and as her chest exploded open he had the gun leveled and the thing that came out of her chest, double tapping it with two .50 slugs which tore it apart, he took a steadying breath, that was rather close.

The human learned quickly, but made lots of noise. The Yautja would have put down the humans in a more silent, if not barbaric way. Counting the bodies, Yu'ja brought up her holomap once again. This time only a few dots remained. Her sisters and her, along with the male human in their company and two other humans. Lower down, moving fast. It seemed they were on the run from something.

"Oomans."

Turning towards her sisters, she instructed them to move in closer. They moved over and stood around the human male, backs turned to him. Like a heard protecting a young calf. Pressing a pressure switch on the ground, the room began to turn and move. The old entrance closed up, before a stairwell became visible off to the side. Around them the room was split up into several portions, blocking off exits apart from down.

Stepping out of the circle, Yu'ja removed the glaive that was strung to her back. It had a sharp blade at each end, and could be spun around to attack on all rotations. Like a double ended polearm. It looked ceremonial, and had her clans engravings all along it.

There was one xenomorph still alive, if the numbers were correct. Three dead humans with no young inside them, two xenomorphs killed so far. Both taken by the male human. It was unknown if there were more, aged hundreds of years maybe.

Walking down the stairs, they soon came upon the level the humans were on. Listening, Yu'ja could hear the screams along the tunnel that went to the right. They seemed the have just run past.

Stepping out into the walkway, Yu'ja turned one way and looked down the tunnel. Her scanner picking up more than one xenomorph moving down the wall. She did not feel like fighting them on this terrain, not enough swinging room. And so, she indicated for everyone to move after the other humans. And walked backwards after them.

He followed Yu'ja and her group, she removed what looked like a staff and motioned them down the corridor, just as a type of early warning system, he set two claymores, just in case one of them decided to creep up behind them. He looked up at Yu'ja

"Danger"

He made a movement that tracked the angle of the approach towards the claymores and made an explosion sound while imitating an explosion with his hands. It was very basic, but he had to warn her, he didn't want her or her companions to come to harm, they haven't tried to kill him...yet. With that he set off in the direction that the hurt female, which still haven't cloaked herself, was heading. They entered into another chamber and Donovan looked about him, it looked lower than the previous ones, switching off the scope to conserve it's energy. He took from his one pocket what looked like a pair of sunglasses and put them on, why he haven't thought about this much earlier he didn't know. He switched on the device and the pitch dark lit up as the same technology which worked on the scope of the gun, set to work on the glasses to allow him to see what he needed. He felt like kicking himself, he had all this gadgets and he forgot to use them, that comes from following basic instinct and not thinking when you are in new situation.

Backing into the open chamber, one of the sisters moved off. Spotting the two humans that seemed to be huddling in a corner. Currently they could only see the human male, and the injured Yautja. And their reaction was one of pure fear. Yu'ja had been careful to avoid the device the human had set. But she suspected the xenomorphs wouldn't be so lucky. Investigating the room, she smiled to herself. This would prove to be the battleground. It was nice and open, and the xenomorphs would have to cross some ground to get at them. And unlike the Yautja and humans, they lacked long range attacks. Apart from their tails.

"Fight 'ere," she began looking to the soldier. "Gu-ard Oomans."

Then, with a few clicks of her tongue, the rest of her sisters decloaked and joined her in a defensive pattern. The xenomorphs could see them anyway. The cloak didn't hide mass and since the xeno's used echo-location to see, and all the humans were accounted for, it was pointless. Plus, it made it easier for her to see her sisters as well, without needing to keep switching visuals.

They moved around the room, putting up laser nets on the other tunnels. And left the one path open, where they had just come from. It would be a bottleneck for whatever was left. The two humans were unarmed, it would be a cowards kill to harm them. However, the Yautja themselves wouldn't defend them. They were weak if they died.

This would be the final battle before facing the Queen.

The claymore exploded down the tunnel, filling the room with a slow but steady stream of dust. Yu'ja took forward position, crouching down and spinning her glaive into her combat position. Soon, on all fours, a xenomorph launched itself through the tunnel opening. It grabbed onto the glaives staff, and pushed her back onto the ground. With a swift kick, she flicked it back over the top of her into the stone wall. Righting herself, she moved in. It struck out at her with it's tail, and with a quick block she avoided it before moving in closer to sever the tail at it's base. She plunged the glaive into the creatures neck, moving to disconnect it's head from it's body. However as a second xenomorph charged through the dust, she was hit with one of her sisters as she too was thrown backwards. The glaive slid across the ground several meters.

Rolling off, she growled.

And instead began to move around the xenomorph who was obviously pissed off at her now.

She liked to call it blind rage. She drew all the threat.

It charged at her, and she grabbed it around the neck pulling it up off the ground and slammed her head into its. It screeched. The distortion of it's vision painful. Pushing it into the wall, she brought her fist back and punched it in the chest. Cracking it's rib structure. It scratched at her, ripping a portion of her shoulder armor off. And it started to snap at her. Pulling her arm back from the punch, she grabbed it's second mouth and dislocated it in one swift pull from its head.

Soon all sisters were fighting their own creature.

He watched in fascination as all the creatures decloaked themselves and engaged the beasts. What really fascinated him was that they all seemed to be female, which was interesting, he turned to the two cowering people

"Have you been hurt?"

They shook their heads

"Do you know how to shoot a gun"

"We are scientists, not fighters, what the hell is going on?"

He looked over his shoulder, he noticed one of the spider like things scurrying towards one of the creatures, he lifted his gun and fired, two rounds slamming into the thing and it popped like an over ripe melon.

"From what I can figure you guys triggered something and these tall gals, they are here to prevent those other beasts from getting out"

"Who are you?"

"I'm your extraction"

"You always come with weapons?"

He glanced back at them

"Precautionary measures, if I was sent to kill you, you would be dead"

Another beast appeared in the tunnel entrance, it was basically ripped to shreds, but somehow it seemed to be able to stand.

"Godamn it. Two claymores and you can still stand?"

He sighted down the scope and fired a short burst, the beast fell lifeless to the ground. He saw one of the creatures ripping her mask off as smoke was rising from it, she engaged the beast which was in poor shape and trying to splatter her with it's blood. He watched as she managed to snap the beast's neck, but what caught him by surprise was the spider thing that jumped onto her face out of the shadows of a pillar standing close to the wall where they were fighting. Not thinking about what could be, just wishing to save a comrade in arms, he lifted his gun and fired, one round ripped open the back of the thing and the second ripped it basically in half. He saw more of the things approaching the creature and he started to open fire as the other creatures was busy fighting the beasts.

"Look out!"

He turned to his side to see one of the beasts almost on top of him, he dropped the gun, ripped out his pistols and opened fire, the slugs ripping into it's body and some ricocheting from it's head, suddenly the beast was pulled backwards by it's tail, one of the creatures whipped it over her head and slammed it into the ground. He holstered his pistols and picked up his gun, reloading it with a fresh clip and cocked it.

"If we get out of this I'm buying drinks for those girls"

In less than a minute, three xenomorphs and a small handful of face huggers lay motionless on the ground. Unfortunately in the gunfire, one of the sisters had been splashed with considerable amounts of acidic blood. It had eaten though her chest quickly, and with no armor to remove she had died painfully. Luckily it had been swift. Yu'ja did not pause to mourn the death of one of the clan, instead she focused on disemboweling the creature she fought with. Picking it up, she tossed it into the wall with severe force. Cracking it's spine in several places as it impacted a jutting out section. It lay motionless on the ground, screeching out but unable to move until it died.

Another xenomorph had turned it's attention towards her, and lashed out with it's tail. Rolling off to the side she manged to avoid it's reach. And recollected her glaive. Moving in, it whipped it's tail around again and she moved under it. Spinning the blade and removing it's head from it's body with a deadly swiftness. Now that more had moved into the room there was no time to savor kills.

Her sisters all seemed to have disabled at least one xenomorph each, as had the human.

But there were still five or six in the room in the mids of fighting. One of her sisters howled out as two tails pierced her torso. She had been the injured one from before and was swiftly picked out of the bunch by some younger xenomorphs. As she fell to the ground dead, Yu'ja and another Yautja took on the creatures. The other sister firing her shoulder cannon to reduce the numbers. Not the most sporting ways to kill, but effective. Yu'ja simply knocked the young xenomorph off it's legs, picked it up by the head and flung it through one of the laser nets blocking any flanking attempts. It fell into the tunnel in little pieces, the smell of burnt flesh filling the room.

Turning around, she caught a claw to the side of her neck. Hissing at the pain that surged through her. The teeth snapping near her as she held it out off her body. Driving the glaive end up through it's torso until it ripped out the back of it's skull, she growled loudly as it continued to rip at her flesh.

Her sisters were also taking their scratches, but most were holding ground. Several of them utilizing wrist blades, or their disks to severe important parts of the creatures bodies.

Withdrawing the glaive, and bringing with it a good deal of flesh, she shoved it upwards. Like a spartan behind a shield and the sharp tip went straight through the dome of the xenomorph killing it. Dropping it to the ground she moved back into position.

The fight was turning and at the moment it didn't look good for Yu'ja's team, Donovan heard a scuttling sound above him and as he looked up a spider thing dropped towards one of the scientists. Using the barrel of his rifle he swatted it away and drilled two bullets into its soft body.

"Godamn how many of these things are there?"

"According to what we could figure from the glyphs there is eight chambers, each chamber has six delivering systems"

"That makes it 48"

"Every 36 hours"

Donovan blinked and watched the fight, one of the beasts was making it's way around the edge of the fighting, trying to get to the back of one of the creatures. He raised his gun and opened fire, the rounds slammed into the beast's neck, the explosive tips ripping its neck open, sending blood flying. The gun jammed, leaving Donovan to face a highly agitated beast, he dodged to one side and it barreled into the wall right next to the scientists. Its tail hit the ground right next to Donovan, digging into the ground, drawing the machete from the sheath on his lower back, he lashed out with it, severing the tip from the tail. He rolled away to avoid the splattering blood, but the female scientists wasn't that lucky as a good sized amount of the blood landed on her face and chest, starting to burn away at her flesh.

"Get away from it!"

Donovan drew one of his pistols and opened fire at the beast, the heavy bullets ripping through the thing's body, the male scientist scampered out of the way on hands and knees. Holstering the now empty pistol, Donovan pulled out a flashbang, primed and tossed it, covering his eyes as the grenade exploded with a bright flash of light. The beast screamed and shook its head, Donovan ran at it and brought the machete down on its neck, severing it. He looked at the blade and watched as the metal started to melt away, throwing the remainder onto the beast's body he started to work on his gun, trying to clear the jam.

Surveying the situation, Yu'ja moved over to the only entrance that remained open and set up a lazer net. Switching it on, several xenomorphs growled at her from the other side. Cut off from joining their brethren. Turning around, she moved back over to the human male, the warrior. Inspecting his blade, she could tell the acid was eating straight through it all. Passing him her glaive, she extended her wrist blades to their longest reach and went back to work.

Soon it seemed that the room was becoming under control. And without reinforcement, the xenomorphs found themselves now the ones cornered. Unfortunately like wild animals, they turned on the nearest Yautja with savage rage. Picking them off one by one hopefully.

He took the glaive from Yu'ja and swirled it around. It was as light as a Bo, but with the reach of a quarterstaff, very interesting weapon. By now he had his gun unjammed and reloaded with a new clip, he was starting to run seriously low on ammunition he had about three full clips left for the gun and three for each pistol. Noticing that the beasts was turning on one of the creatures and that not one of the other creatures was really in blast radius; he fired the grenade launcher, cocking it to load a new 20mm grenade, the 20 mm HE grenade landed between the beasts, it's explosive force ripping through them, killing two and leaving the rest wounded. Unfortunately the creature they were tearing into was already dead and Donovan let out a sigh, he hated losses even if they were not human. He scanned the chamber and not seeing any of the spider creatures around he shouldered his gun and wielding the glaive he joined the ranks of the creatures to advance on the remaining beasts

It didn't take more than a few well aimed hits before there were limbs and entrails of the remaining xenomorphs covering the ground. It was only when there were no more targets around that the other Yautja examined their dead sisters. So many Yautja died on their quests to earn a kill, and to return with the trophy to prove it. They would rest for a while, and then remove one of the nets. Fight again. Replace the net. Rest. And then repeat this dance all night if need be. Worst case scenario, they would set the self destruct timers on the dead Yautja's bodies and fight their way back to the shuttle.

But the fight was far from over, if even one of them was still capable of holding a weapon the game was winnable.

Yu'ja moved over to sit on one of the sacrificial tables. Removing her medical kit she examined her neck and shoulder. The medical kit contained several instruments, all appeared just as painful as the next. Cutting implements, spreading implements, some sort of serum and enough powder to burn close a battle of wounds.

Taking a syringe, she injected herself with a high dose antibiotic. It contained nano technology, which would heal the wound from the inside. She hissed as the sting spread throughout her neck region. Opening a disk with a flame, she went about preparing the liquid that would cauterize the open wounds. Mixing it rather clumsily slowly. And whilst it was still very hot, she picked up the tray and poured it over the wound. Burning it closed. Her body tensed at this, even for her this was very painful.

Several of the other Yautja were doing the same sort of thing. Taking what precious time they had to kick start the healing process. For the most part everyone ignored the humans.

He stood at the entrance of the tunnel and looked at the beasts some seemed to pace the corridor and others just waited. Donovan wondered if he shouldn't place the rest of the claymores, but decided not to, he might need something like it to cover a retreat later on. He turned and looked as the creatures was busy with what seemed like running repairs to themselves. He walked over to Yu'ja and waited for her to acknowledge his presence by looking at him; he thumped his chest like she did

"Donovan"

He gave her a smile and walked over to the scientist, who without any visual aid, was as blind as a mole. He tried to scamper away from Donovan's footsteps

"Hold up doc, it's me. Are you hurt?"

The scientist breathed a sigh of relief

"I'm fine, it's darker than a nightmare down here"

"How did you see that beast coming up behind me?"

"The flashes from your gunfire reflected off it's hide and skin...what...what happened to Lucy? I only heard her scream"

Donovan crouched down, hanging his head

"She died, blood of the beast I killed landed on her...I'm sorry"

The scientist reached out and patted Donovan on the arm

"You did the best you could, don't beat yourself up over it"

"I'll try doc, I'll try"

Donovan stood up and surveyed the carnage, this was some kind of war that he was not trained for. Holding the claive he gave it another whirl, it whistled softly through the air. He grinned and whirled it faster, moving with it as he grew more accustomed to the balance and weight, while not a master, he had rudimentary training with staffs and he thought that back then he could have gotten far with something like this. He stopped and admired the staff, noticing the marks on it and he started to study them; they looked exactly like those he saw at the door.

The human approached her, and after several moments of concentration she turned her attention to him. Until then she ignored him like she would any youngster in her company. He called himself Donovan. And she repeated it back in her broken English. Having picked up a few words and listened to him talking to the other humans.

"Donovan...."

The name sounded foreign, as it was, and didn't sit on her as easily as her own name or that of her Clan. But a name was just a way of identifying yourself.

Packing up her kit, she watched him out of the corner of her eye. Not trusting yet, but not worried. His projectile weapon was intriguing still, if not primitive. His gear heavy in comparison to her own. But he seemed to use the glaive with amateur skill, similar to that of a youngsters first trail. He picked it up quickly though, and she turned away towards her sisters.

Would they let the humans go, having seen them? It was not common practice. But he had taken the trophy of the creature and was no longer a target of debate. And the other human seemed about as capable of fighting as an infant. No, it would not be honorable to kill them, even if it was cleaning up. The pact would remain. The humans that already knew would keep the secret in exchange for occasional 'hunts' and the 'coming of age trials' taking place. And in exchange for that, the Yautja would make sure the xenomorph threat did not reach this galaxy. It had been decided by much more intelligent elders. It would be respected.

Standing up, Yu'ja moved over and looked each human over.

"Are you...Donovan....and Ooman ready?" she asked, using his own questions from before in her accent. She did not understand their conversation fully.

She could see that the human doctor could not see in such low light, and removed an orb from her back. Placing it on the stone slab near him she pressed a button on top. And stepped back. Humans didn't react well around her. Soon it flicked to light and lit the room in a soft blue glow. Turning off her own visual range, she used the light instead. It wasn't as good, but it was enough.

He looked at her, she may have been a coldblooded killer, but in her own way, she was considerate.

"I am ready..."

He motioned at the scientist

"Doc no fight"

He knew that she had obviously noticed that the scientist was basically dead weight, but Donovan felt that even in these situations, he was obliged to protect him. He was actually surprised to realize that not only could she speak some words English, but that she knew how to use them. He pointed at himself and the scientists

"Don and Doc...Oomans..."

He motioned at her and the remaining creatures

"Yu'ja and other?"

He then motioned at one of the dead beast

"These?"

He knew that the knowledge wouldn't do him any good, but at least he will know what to call everything
