E_o-D - try uploading hundreds of pages to it every night... You think YOUR language is colorful! Unfortunately, the second server we so badly need is not exactly cheap... We're saving up, and hopefully will be able to purchase it soon (though I'm not sure if we can squeeze it before tax time). Once we get the second dedicated server, we should be fine for a while...
While I'm here... We've got a couple big surprises coming - a couple more super duper cool additions to Literotica. We should have them online within the next few weeks, so stay tuned!

Hi again all...
Just talked to Manu re: the BB speed/error issue... There's supposed to be a new version of the software released in March, which we believe will fix all of the speed problems and errors. If you can bear with us for a couple more weeks (and I know you can!!), we should be back rockin & rollin even during heavy use time... Believe me, I use the boards as much as anyone (and more than some! hehe), and it's annoying to me, too... I'll beat Manu extra hard tonight for each error you guys get...

LOL! We only get paid if you sign up for their programs, so don't wear out your mouse buttons!!!... And while we do get some money from people signing up, we do have rather large bandwidth bills to pay... But it's cool - as long as the income mostly covers the expenses, it's wortt it for us.

Unfortunately, we're not exactly living off the site yet - the money we do get covers the bandwidth bills and sometimes we have some left to do other things (like upgrading our server) with. Hopefully, that will change someday, but that's not the idea...
While you're passing the hat, my wife has another tuition payment coming up in two weeks, I'd like to pay off my credit card balances, student loans, car loan, etc...etc...

Our host is installing some hardware within the next couple of weeks that should help the problem, if not completely fix it. We're definitely going to get a new server eventually, but hopefully what he's installing will hold us over until after tax time. We don't know when the new version of the BB will be released, but when that happens, we should be flying along... So hang on, kiddies - great things are ahead!

Another guy stocks and ships the goods, and we get a commission, which we use to pay for our bandwidth and hosting and other site expenses. That's why we keep the site free. Unfortunately, like anything, there are costs involved on our end. The banners and such help us cover those costs so we can keep on providing all these hours of entertainment to you people (and us!) at no cost. So there you go, the long and the short of it.
