thank you, I know you do a lot and I appreciate it. I try for 1 or 2 nites a week to catch up on the poems it's hard in the summer though. Did you get any of your 'h' back? What really gets me is if it were a sucky poem I can see it, but only the ones I think are ok get it. I lost 2 but got one back.

I never had any trouble with trolling untill my poems started appearing in the toplists, then 1 by 1 they all vanished ~ along with my precious H's

I don't know why people do it either, but they are obviously very sad people with nothing better to do!

May I suggest getting a life?

I had 4 H's go and I got 2 of them back, next thing I know 13 more had gone! If it was coz the poem was bad then ok thats fine but they had clearly been trolled

I know i was submitting a poem yesterday and one went down 30 points, by the time I submitted the poem my '5' was a 4.58 and a 4.85 was in the low 50's. I just waited for more I was so pissed about the 5 because it was the 10th vote and I never had one before. Well, consider the source, I'd rather lose the 5 than be that pathetic.

Amen to that! They obviously get some sick pleasure out of it, or they want their poems to get higher in the toplist or have a higher rating, here's what I say to all the trollers out there;

You can troll all you like but it doesn't make you a better poet, just a sadder person!

hellbaby, I understand that it's frustrating. But I'd like to see you redirect this energy into writing. Don't waste it on these silly people. The more your poetry improves and the more recognition you receive for your writing, the less their comments and ones will mean to you. :)

Amen sistah.

I had wanted to say that is not a new occurance. When I went through this the first time 1.5 years ago, and all my H's disappeared.... I took it personally, and could not grasp what the old timers :) were telling me that it happens all the time, not to let it get to you.

A good friend reassured me-- this is what is supposed to happen, new poems get on the top list, the older ones move on...." and I did not get it. Not for a long time until I got a sense of history at this place and it all came into perspective.

Then as time goes by...I have seen it happen to everyone.
There are many reasons, not all of them some evil scheme  to get you.

If you want to fee in good company, scroll through the archives where this topic has been discussed to death :)

But it is always nice to vent, but WE is right, write write write

I turned off voting to escape from the insanity of putting numbers on poems. They do not belong together. Nor do the negative feelings that come from the feeling of being judged.

okay back into my nest.

okay I feel foolish, I see JennC and HellBaby have both been here longer than I have! You somehow got by this long without your poems losing points! Cheers!

I agree with Eve.. we have all gotten trolled I was hurt at first and now I know how I feel about my works and realize that some people just get off on being mean. Do no give them the power by letting them hurt you. Remember that they can only hurt you if YOU let them. Feel sorry for their pathetic lives that they only get meaning in doing cruelty.

To All These Creative Minds

To all the foregoing frustrations:

As a reader, I'll be lending my support to the Vixxx in her quest to address this disgusting troll problem. I know how you feel; as a reader that appreciates the work you do, I view the attack of the trolls as an attack on me as well.

I was deeply disturbed to see her Cyanide Smile plunge after she made her recent comments in another thread about the troll attacks. Her poem has special meaning to me and to see it hit in this fashion also has special meaning (& not the good kind).

For those who have seen my public comments on your poems, you know how I work. For those that don't, the very best poems manage to turn my comments into verse (God help us all !!). That's how well you perform your craft, you pull me deeply into your world of verse.

I've looked at a number of poems that just didn't connect; that doesn't make them bad, it only means there's no connection. Period. So I give no vote; to do so would be a fraud on all concerned.

And if you haven't gotten a comment from me yet on your work (JenniferC, et. al.) I may not have yet gotten to them. I want to be fair and there are so many thousands of poems still waiting to be read.

So rest assured that besides your fellow poets there's at least one serious pure reader out there. So y'all just keep up the fine work you do.

Hang in there.

I agree with ya and you have commented on my work, you left one on my new poem 'Touch Me' which I really appreciate by the way :rose:

write, write, write and you won't remember an H score from an 1 asshole in the crowd.

Hey welcome back, read your latest, left a meaningless comment and a "5"
just the way you like it

Meaningless comments for that fluff poem are fine.
The disney comment was better in my head where I had the musical accompaniment. And it's not so bad for older poems to move off the list to make way for a fresh batch.

Very good advice, I shall take it. I just had to vent a little, its worse when your watching it happen than being surprised by it.(I think)

Vent away while the trolls have their day; it shows that your passion's still hot. Better than closing in on yourself to protect from their crud. Than they and their gerkin minds (such as they are) win.

And yes, write away; show them their impotence. Your verse, both funny and serious; will pass through the troll's cranium with no hindrance.

Damn, I can't talk straight anymore <grin>.

P.S. Mike Hunt is way too deliciously naughty - have to add this newbie as a fav!!
