Discovery Channel has a new show this season. Flying Wild Alaska. It's actually an interesting show even though it does have it's bits of drama.

I saw promos of that and it does look interesting. Not long ago you posted a link about Interesting Basements. The guy who did "Dirty Jobs" on discovery seemed to be hosting the basement show. Is that on Discovery, also? I looked but came up blank.

That basements show was quite some time ago I'm thinking. I was sent the link by a friend of mine who knows my enjoyment of people working with their hands.

As for Flying Wild, I've watched the first two segments and have enjoyed them. Some great photography and a good mix of people. (they are following one airline.)

Oh well, maybe it will turn up somehow. I make muzzleoading (Davey Crockett style) rifles from scratch. Everything except the barrels. I think I'm pretty good at it, but I can't help but admire and envy the guy's skill in putting that basement together.

I liked them too, Cat. man, it's a good thing the daughter is cute... because she's just not that bright. there certainly are some tense moments in the show, and not just when she parked the plane backwards.

I wouldn't say she isn't bright, she's just young. (And damned cute to boot.)

As for the tense moments, yep they are there and more so if you know anything about flying. (That last one with the flying through the fog was a bit nasty, as was the take off from a short area in the first show.)

that is a pretty cool show. that is a hard way of life up there, can't imagine how they do it
