A lot of people move to the states, because to be quite blunt, it IS the land of opportunity. Many people who have been educated in Canada cannot find jobs here because our economy sucks donkey balls right now, and so we move south (a North American Brain Drain, if you will) in order to find work.

Some of us accept that the US is a great country, and one that can offer us a life and an income when our own country can't.. and some of us would rather work hard to carve out a niche up here in Canada than move south.

ya ok...... your answers probably right but it's boring..... I think yall really just like our weather and beaches I don't care what Roxy says!!!! She really wants to move down here but want admit it!!

In many ways the USA stands alone in the world.

But If there is anwhere else an American can go in the world and feel more at home than in Canada, I'm not sure where that would be.

Likewise, there are few places a Canadian could relocate nearly seamlessly.

Canada is probably the friendliest, safest, cleanest, respectful ,pro-American trading partner & ally the USA has.

In Canada we study your history, geography, politics in school and we travel regularly to your cities and attractions.

We watch your TV networks and news every day.

You should pop up for a visit more often!

We think you're swell.

Bring your cash!.....but leave the guns at home 'kay?

Thanks

Lance

I thought your answer was quite succinct.

Then again, there are also several possessors of mighty fine Canadian boobies in this thread. I'd be remiss if I didn't find some flirtatious comment to make. ;)

Why don't you travel and find out?

I have traveled. I've been to Canada. I know Canadians who live in the US.

None of that answes the question about Todd living in Canada.

Yes. We are all ostriches.

I thought ostriches were from Africa.

Of course, I am an American, so geography has no place.

If it ain't stateside, it don't exist.

I was just agreeing to end the conversation. Had I disagreed, I'm sure one of the more knowledgeable persons on the board would have popped right in to tell me how I'm wrong and why, anyways.

I think we should only be allowed one "What I don't know about Canada" thread posted by a Yank, and one "What I don't know about the US" thread posted by a Canadian, per month.

LOL

It's the only explanation I could think of for assuming a country... any country doesn't have a religious extreme represented within it's population.

It's like when my sister-in-law was visiting us in Kansas City. We drove past Menorah Hospital and she exclaimed, with all the wonder of a child on Christmas, "I had no idea you had Jewish people in Kansas!"

edited to say that I don't consider those of the jewish faith extremists. I just find it odd that we so rarely can see beyond our own little idea of what the world's like.

If y'all can't see tongue in cheek threads for what they are, it's not my problem.

Oh we have them, PCG. I dont think we have them to the extent that you all do, nor are they as powerful here, but they do exist. One religious freak ran for Prime Minister in the last election, but I think he pushed the religion a bit too far (plus he was a complete head case), and people figured out quickly that too many things that we enjoy and take for granted up here would vanish once he had power, so in the end he didn't even get close to being elected.

As soon as he made noises about taking another look at the abortion laws, he lost any chance he had to win most women's votes.

I'm sure there are other Canadians living in the US. Happily, working American jobs, getting paid that nice American money, and going to American doctors who are paid by American insurance companies.

If Canada is so much better, why didn't they all stay home?

Substitute America for Australia, and Canada for New Zealand.

Australia has more NZ'ers her than they do in their own country.

What was the coment I heard Norm McDnald make once?
"I'm from Canada, where we call America The Great Satan. No, seriously, we're just like you except without the guns, and less money."
