A while back, I started a thread with a list I called, "THINGS I'VE LEARNED FROM DIRTY STORIES ON THE 'NET". You can find it here.

Anyway, after reading Roger Ebert movie glossary, which includes his definitions of movie cliches and things that only happen in a movie. So, I was inspired, so, for at least a start, here it is:

AN EROTIC FICTION GLOSSARY

Anachronistic Adolescent:
An 18-year-old character that knows less about sex than a ten year old learns from watching an episode of "Friends". This character is usually a result of the Statutory Compromise (see below).

Anatomical Inventory:
A section or paragraph in a erotic story in which the narrator lists a character's measurements and describes certain body parts. Known as the Auto-Anatomical Inventory if the story is told in the first person.

Multiple Lettergasm:
The use of successive redundant vowels to indicate loud, lengthy speech during extreme passion and arousal, i.e.: "Oooohhh yeesss, doon't sstopp! I'm gonna cuuuummm!

Parental Evasion Ability:
The ability of two teenagers to hide their continual, long-lasting incestuous sexual activities from their parents when said activity occurs in the home they share.

Position-Rotation Telepathy:
The ability of all persons engaging in multiple-person sexual acts to know exactly when to change positions and which new positions to take, without speaking to one another. This occurs without any confusion or awkward moments.

"Shock and Aw-Yeah" Interval: The period of time between a person's initial horror and eventual arousal upon witnessing a taboo sexual activity. This Interval is usually followed by said person joining in the activity. More specific examples of this exist, such as the Parental "Shock and Aw-Yeah" Interval, during which a parent witnesses incestuous activity between his or her offspring.

Statutory Compromise:
Occurs when the star of a story is said to be 18 years old, though the author obviously intends the character to be younger. The Compromise is made to avoid the potential legal entanglements of writing a story involving underage characters. This rule often leads to the Anachronistic Adolescent (see above).

Trickle-Down Effect:
Occurs when a small amount of male ejaculate dribbles out the corners of a person's mouth attempting to swallow all ejaculate deposited in said person's mouth. [C'mon, you must have noticed this... This has got to be in every other story out there!]

Verbal Warning:
A a common verbal indication that a man or woman is about to achieve orgasm during sexual activity, i.e.: "I'm cumming!".

Virginal Reality Revelation:
A phrase, term or event that tells the reader of an erotic story that the author has little or no actual sexual experience. This may include very superficial and/or generalized descriptions of body parts or the portrayal of physically impossible positions and/or activities.

Excellent! You should post this in the Author's Hangout.

Let me suggest the "mirror-induced anatomical inventory", where the character checks self out in mirror to provide the author with a vehicle to describe same

Optically estimated mammary volume-- "She was a C cup"

Condensed orgasmic refractory period--a man's ability to experience multple serial ejaculations as needed for dramatic effect.

Considering the noticeable lack of response to this, I guess I should! :)

Here's a few more for you:

Kama-Sutra positioning: Occurs when the person writing knows a little about sex but not about body mechanics. Attempts to recreate these scenes will lead to broken and/or dislocated participants. This is a varient on the Virginal Reality Relevation

Inadequacy Overcompensation: Occurs when the writer is overcompensating for personal in adequacy either mentally or physically by introducing characters with unrealistically large genetailia; can be used also as a device for a parody.

Sluttificiation: every girl in the story is a ripe college girl or fresh-out-of-high school sex machine. They don't even care if they're homosexual, bi-sexual, or heterosexual, as long as they're getting something somehow from someone.

Involuntary Pronoun Shift: this occurs when a writer is so caught up in a story that he or she doesn't realize that he or she has transplanted themselves into the story through replacing a "his" or "hers" with a "my" or "mine."
