Amusing feedback from anon

So today I've gotten two email feedbacks from an anonymous reader for a story that's been up for about three years (Nothing Gets Through). They appear to be annoyed by some typos. Sorry the typos slipped through, but they do, and I don't recall many other complaints.

The tone -- as much as one gets a tone from email -- seems to want a response but of course as it's anonymous... (which I just mistyped as "annoymouse." l like that.)

Ah, fun stuff.

Sorry. Just had to share. Slow day. Or at least, this is more amusing to think about than my apparently infected tooth. Sigh.

I occasionally get an anonymous comment--in e-mail directed from here--asking direct questions--that I'd dearly like to answer . . . if there was anywhere to send the answer. I've even gotten "why don't you respond?" follow ups.

Gotten the same and not just through e-mails.

I had a recent comment on my Halloween entry mentioning a grammar issue and that if I need an editor they would be happy to volunteer. Anon of course.

Someone else claimed on a comment from an old SWB chapter they would love to discuss my motivations and how I was able to pen such a dark tale. They also mentioned a similar idea they had and wanted to discuss it. and of course anon.

Can't talk to you, if I can't find you.

Well, that's the thing. I'd respond and say thanks for pointing it out, but of course I can't. I was waiting for a third one -- the story's in three parts -- but maybe that one didn't have typos. And these are typos like now/know, where the word is properly spelled, but the wrong word.

Also -- the story's been up for three years, like I said. It took them this long? ;)

I'm amazed at how much play my backlog is getting--and at how often I get favorited on a story I'm no longer all that thrilled about. I find myself thinking, "You liked THAT as opposed to this other one? And feeling a little miffed."

Last week I received a comment on a BDSM story I pulled last year. They said sorry they took so long to get around to it, but wanted to tell me they really enjoyed the scene.

little gems

Sometimes when you a read a story you look at the side and see the suggested similar stories and find little gems that were written years ago. While they are old to the author, its a shiny new imagining for the reader. For people who haven't been on the site so long its lovely to find these stories and peaks interest in the author. I wouldn't dwell on how old the story is because for the reader it isn't old at all.

Got this one today:

I don't even know why I look anymore ... you haven't posted anything here in so long. If you given up writing and posting on literotica.com, would you at least post that news on your biography so I won't waste my time looking? Thanks ... always enjoyed your writing, but am tired of looking and being disappointed to find nothing new to read.

And again, anonymous, so I can't reply.

I suppose posting something on my profile isn't a bad idea, but ... I hate feeling railroaded into it.

Whenever I see something along those lines my reply is "let's see you write something"

I got this one last night and find it ironic for a couple of reasons.

One, I have not had an editor in over a year (Sydney Blake was my last one) and have gotten some comments on my somewhat spotty grammar.

So I approached an editor in the available for October thread and they took it on and....really didn;t do a great job the comment I'm going to post is the third calling out grammar, but what is funny is look at how they spelled editor.

This was editied?

Several errors; punctuation, dropped letters, wrong words, grammar. Other than that a fun read.

Guess they should get an editor for their post. At least my mistakes were throughout a 15K story, this guy couldn't get a 16 word post

LOL, yes. The 'disappointed in your lack of output' emails are always a bit ouchy. I would love to be able to pull the stories in my head on to the page but I'm going through a particularly manic part of my life at the moment and writing's way down the list of priorities, much though I'd like it to be nearer the top!

I do use my profile to update (although I haven't changed it in several weeks) but even then, not everybody looks there. You can't win, and these days, I don't try to. :)

Yeah. This is just life getting in the way. I'd really like to write but it seems like I can't find any time. And I can't just sit and zip stuff off when I have a few free seconds, at least not most of the time. I need a little space/time to relax and get into a bit of a zone.

Anon email

About a month ago I recieved an email from Anon telling me someone had ripped off Priceless and published it through Dreamspinner. Of course I couldn't respond and tell them M.A. Church and nomoretears00 is the same person, lol. An hour later I got another email-with a name this time-from the same person.

They'd looked at my bio here at Lit, then went to my blog. I state on my bio and on my blog I'm nomoretears00. The person was mortified they'd accused me of ripping off myself. *grin*

Good news is I ended up with a new follower on my blog. She ended up finding out that book #2 in the series is under contract and book #3 is submitted, lol.

Needless to say, I try and keep my bio here up to date. :) You just never know.

Well, I can understand not putting an email address in feedback, I never do either. But I ususally write my Lit user name in both comments and feedback mails, so that people can get back to me via Lit feedback, if they want. And it's great when I get a response from a writer.

So those people who write completely anon only have themselves to blame for being 'ignored' but I certainly symphathise with your frustration, PennLady and others.

I just got a very nice comment on my only LW story posted clear back in Dec. '07. It's nice to know you can still bring some pleasure to people five years after the fact . . .
