WE MUST HOPE THAT, LOOKING BACKWARD TO 2014 IN THE YEARS TO COME, WHAT WE LIVED THROUGH WILL BE SEEN AS AN ULTIMATE LOW POINT FROM WHICH WE ROSE UP AND CREATED A BETTER FUTURE.
I need a read before bed. I woke up with a startle about twenty minutes ago. Not really woke up, but more of a crashing idea popped in my head, so I jumped out of bed like a nut looking for a book to write in. After five minutes of bumbling about the house in the dark, I found the notebook and emptied my head of the incessant storm of ideas trapped inside. The cat came out of the kids room with a glare in her eyes, telling me silently that I had woken her from a peaceful sleep. Sketched the cat. Glass of water and an anxiety pill, which I haven't taken in months, because I don't want to be up until 5am. With the brain fired up like a rocket, and the tossing and turning and bad thoughts before jumping out of bed, I figured it was best. Anyways.
Opening the computer, news feed first read. Skip the articles and to the source. War and refugees. Power and control. Images of bombs and children. Sobering goes better with coffee in the morning. I will gather my thoughts later for comments on the report.
