American Airlines new livery

Someone once said that airlines were how billionaires became millionaires.

And I still miss

the first redesigned look for the Fort Worth-based carrier since 1968.

That's not wasteful at all.

If anything, too conservative.

Other big brands freshen their look every 5-8 years.

Yes, but they're coming out of bankruptcy. There are better ways they could spend they're money. Like not charging people for checked luggage. I'm sure the people would rather have the money for the baggage than a re-badged airplane.

I like liver and especially liver and onions but I don't think I've ever had it on American Airlines.

I bought a basket-load of US Air stock right after 9/11. I was pretty sure Uncle Sam wouldn't let them go B/R. The worthless stock cert is hanging on my wall.

Yes, you seem quite sure of yourself.

Yet you are ignorant on how to relaunch a Brand.

What a conundrum for you!

Paying for checked bags isn't going anywhere. Might as well learn to live with it or fly the horror shows known as low cost carriers.

Rebranding is normal and usually a good business move. Takes money to make money and all that.

Not really ignorant of rebranding. I just think AMR is not going to survive no matter their paint scheme and they'll eventually be merged with USAir.

Do you count SouthWest as low cost? I would rather fly SWA now than AA. With SWA I've had more ontime flights and less hassle with luggage (being late, etc).

Everyone counts Southwest as low cost. They're fine if you enjoy flying coach which is like a Greyhound with wings.
