:head hits the pillow:

:Out:

No sounds required.

Yeah, pretty much every night.

Things I have slept through:
Barking dogs
Trains
Random gunfire

Things that have kept me awake for no reason:
Bug sounds
A party in the next block
Thumps in the trunk

Hard rock.

Either the music or one to the back of the head.

NOBODY or NOTHING in my house listens or talks back. NONE of the things named whatever.

Turn off the light, roll over and - out.

For me, staying that way is a different story but the falling asleep part is easy.

This week, just open the window. We’re about 30 feet from ocean’s edge.:)

Me three. Ain't much keeps me from my 40 winks.

Places I've slept:
In a bunker with heavy artillery going off outside
Sitting in the TC's turret of an M60 tank
In a sidecar running down the freeway at 70 mph

Now, I might wake 6 or 7 times a night to turn over or straighten my arm or leg. Old age, sore joints and aching body parts cause that. But I go right back to sleep for a total 7 or 8 hour slumber.

All that said it is nice to fall asleep to the sound of a rushing stream, rain or the dead silence of a falling snow.

Sleep?

Not with three young foxes playing chase the leader, with yelps, all night.

my ears supply their own white noise when i'm sleepy, like right now... a sort of low, continuous buzz, and i could literally fall asleep right here and now if i let myself.

some nights, though, the brain just won't shut up. not bad stuff. just 'stuff'!
i've listened to a few examples of sleep-sounds and they don't really do it for me, though i love to hear an ocean gently breaking on a beach (hypnotic more than sleepy for me) and the fall of steady rain on the tin roof.

sometimes, the tv works to shut out the brain cogs working, outer noise v inner noise.

as to mona's list, i love the sound of air moving through leafy trees

but dripping water? that wouldn't send me to sleep, it'd be like chinese torture as i waited for the next drip to fall. can't abide a dripping tap, those a bunch of melting icicles or drips from a tree might be another matter :)

Same! I still listen to the sounds before going to bed, tho.
When I wake up in the middle of the night, the sounds soothe me back to sleep. If you have an Echo, you should try it!
