Am I the only person who thinks Kazaa, WinMx, and other PTP programs suck?

I have DSL and tried them all. When I actually find what I'm looking for, the download time (if I can connect to the peer) is so slow it's not worth my time.

And yes, I know all about the spyware.

Might I suggest getting what you want from the IRC channels? Undernet's server channels are of the best quality (that I've found thus far) and the people there are always willing to help. Perhaps give that a shot. Otherwise, there is also Direct Connect (can be found @: http://www.neo-modus.com).

yes they do suck..........your dependant on the transfer speed of the other person's puter.

Plus I hate the spyware involved. Not on my puter.

The spyware is easy to remove. BUt the programs do suck

Yes, the spyware is easy to remove............but the programs suck and the amount of hassle is worse.

I suppose I just don't feel the need that bad to put up with a shitty program and hassle to download that stuff from any of them.

Weird Harold gave me a great program to use for removing spyware, spybot, which is different than Ad Aware.........and I removed Ad Aware and installed spybot and it found more than Ad Aware.

Yes, Neo-Modus' Direct Connect client is free. I just hope you have a lot of files to share, as most of the Direct Connect hubs require quite extensive file shares to be able to access their files. But it's worth it. Once you get into to some of the big hubs, you can find just about anything.

IRC channels are found on IRC networks. To connect to IRC, you need an IRC client. The most popular client to date is mIRC. You can find it here - http://www.mirc.co.uk. It's a shareware program, but there's no 30-day trial - it's fully-featured software.

Yup. They suck. Since Audiogalaxy went down, there hasn't been a good one.

Gnutella is slow and Fast-Trac (The network Kazaa is on and that Morpheus used to be on) is full of trojan horses.
