Personally, I consider any sexual gratification to be sex of one kind or another. Sure, intercourse is the unmarked instance (usually does not require a modifier), but the idea it is more natural is a judgement, not a reasoned analysis. As has been pointed out above, the marked instances of sex have been practices for millennia. They also can occur among other species for the purpose of sexual gratification. That argues toward natural, methinks.

Just speaking for myself, the reason that oral never really did it for me has to do with the fact that what I enjoy about sex is the whole sensual body to body experience as opposed to just genital stimulation. I want the feeling of thighs wrapped around my waist, breasts pressed against my chest, the woman's breath on my face and neck and so forth. I don't get any of that with a BJ. Oral is fine for foreplay, but doesn't really get me what I want. As for handjobs, the appeal is completely lost on me, I may as well do it myself or have nothing at all.
