I've only posted once under the alt, so that wouldn't be a very fun game. And I want to link to it here to increase readership. Because everyone wants to read an ITW blog! Only they won't know it's an ITW blog...rats, foiled again! Just being silly.

Oh, I blog about...my life. Does that clear it up? I really just wanted to write about everything in my life without having to worry about being discovered. I'm fairly anonymous here, but I have posted some identifying details. And, yes, it's Mister Man approved.

It was a long year! :cattail:

Maybe I'll go post as the alt somewhere else on the forum, and drop some clues for you guys. It could be fun!!!

My name is ITW and I have no life.

I have no life either.

It would be interesting, if slightly weird and stalkerish to find which forum you are using the alt and follow the clues.

But JM is right you will have to become boring and drop your IQ by quite a distance to avoid being spotted.

As for the 'Mike' comment in your later post, Loved it.

Maybe you should be an alternative writer of letters to agony aunts, you could blog and publish replies.
You would never have to work again if you put them in a book :)

Alts...as evil as white bread and mayonnaise.

That's the kind of alt that I think is appropriate...one to have fun with that people generally believe to be an alt...or like the BDSM_Librarian.

I think it's wrong to create an alt, then get your panties all up in a bunch about being called out for being an alt. We're all adults here; be brave enough to speak your mind under your regular ID. If you aren't brave enough and get caught, be adult enough to 'fess up.

I'm the alt of my real life. That's enough. An alt of an alt gets too much Inception like.

I think there is absolutely nothing wrong with creating alts for the purposes of asking for advice or sharing something that you don't feel comfortable sharing otherwise. It's funny, because a lot of people start off coming some where like this FOR THAT REASON...but forums are a community too, and eventually you start to not want THOSE people to know certain things and then you start the lovely merry-go-round again.

But seriously, alts for the purposes of trolling is just being a cowardly troll. That's the type of trolls other trolls spit on!

As long as the Alt is not used to be deceptive, offensive or vicious, I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

You do have a point.

Many people on the net use their screen name as an alt to their r/l persona.

Personally I am too lazy for that, but it happens in al kinds of forums and gamer places.

Nutsack1973 is also Fucktard_Lord, but when he posts political stuff he's consumemyunderwear_barack, but he does sound an awful lot like daddys_candi_sub, sometimes, in certain threads.

Alts make my walnut-sized brain hurt.

you lie alt creator!

:D

Alts really don't bother me. Now, if someone were to create one just so they can be cruel and hurtful I would have a problem with it. But if one wants one just to remain even more anonymous or something like that, then so what? I wouldn't want to have to keep up with multiple personalities but someone grooves on that then so be it.
