Does anyone know anything that works well for dulling a sore throat? I'm dying here!!! <sulks>

<Is nowhere near as domestic as he needs to be, apparantly..lol....> I'm helpless! :)

Try Tea with honey in it...works

Thanks...I'll try that! Manomanoman....I hate being sick....makes me feel all useless...especially on a Saturday night! I was supposed to be going out! <grumbles>

a sore throat? two tablespoons of honey, just as recommended (minus the tea) - the sugar in the honey will kill any bacteria. Your other option would be gargling warm salt water (also killing bacteria) - for immediate relief, chloraseptic can work well.

Hope you feel better, soon! *tucking you in*

Oh yeah! I'd forgotten all about gargling with warm salt water.....doh...lol...now I feel silly. :) Thank you! Awwww...and thanks for tucking me in, too...

Try a shot of whiskey with honey the warmth will kill the bad taste and if your throat still hurts at least you won't care anymore :D

LOL - Whiskey and I don't get along.....anything else, just not Whiskey!!!! :p

It's my motherly side, can't help it (and i don't have kids, just a large family!).

Since you don't like whiskey, try brandy - put hot water in a glass to warm it up, the dump it - put brandy in, along with honey (not sugar, it will irritate), and sip to your hearts content - it will help you sleep, in addition to fighting the sore throat.........

Hope you get some sleep tonight *kotc*

lol! A nanny? Oh no! Doesn't that mean you're serious and responsible? We'll never get along now...lol....

Where'd you move back east? And where from over here, if ya don't mind me askin'?

-As for college...c'monnnnnnnn, it's only two more years! Suuuure you don't wanna pay??? :) <crosses his fingers>

I must be responsible - because paying for college now means i get a tax break *LOL*

I moved from the Bay Area in CA - just after Thanksgiving. I drove cross country to Brooklyn, NY and then after 5 months (and 2 parking tickets), moved to the 'burbs in NJ......where in OR are you? How old are you?????

Never mind age - by your last post your 20???? Not even old enough to get a drink in a bar??? I'm 31, btw.......

LOL - Far, far, far too responsible...that should never ever look appealing!

I'm in Salem, OR....our state's lovely capital...lol....ever been here? I swear, there's this great big cultural void that stretches from NorCal to Portland, OR....and I'm in the middle of it. :) Very, very quiet here....<sighs> lol....oh, and I'm 21....so just think, you know I'm housebroken already! It'll be great...it's like buying a puppy, only all I want are home cooked meals! I can walk myself, and if you buy me a squeaky-toy I'm entertained for hours....<is still campaigning for this son position> :p

Heyyyy! I'm an old man now, I'm 21! Hehe...my birthday was in February...<needs to buy a walker and some false teeth soon>

Well, as long as you can do a wine run (I used to drink beer, then I moved just south of Napa Valley!)

Ok, you at least have my attention *LOL*

I have never been north of CA on the west coast, so I'll take your word for it about Salem.

Oh, I'm a pretty good cook.......do you like filet Mignon?

Happy belated B-Day Harvey...Turned 21 in Jan. myself!! *S*
As for the sore throat.......garggling warm water works, the brandy and honey also works wonders!! another fav of my mother's.....some whiskey, oj, and candy cane.....worked also for sore throat and cough! Hope you get to feeling better, Harvey!

Awww...thanks for the happy b-day..lol...you too!!!!

...and thanks for the advice! I just got back from the store with some supplies and some sushi for dinner, now I'm typin' away till I can fall asleep. :)

I make a kick ass filet mignon - grilled but with a sauce that is to die for - it has cabernet sauvignon, brandy and port as it's base - a dollop of butter to thicken it, and shallots/basil for seasoning.....

You can't move here, you have school - we'll have to think of a compromise.........

Sushi??? You like sushi??? Haven't found a good sushi place yet.........

Ohhhhhhhh my gosh, my dinner is pretty weak in comparison now....<sighs>....sauce? shallots and basil? Think we could sneak a very, very thin shaving of bacon around the edges, or would that overpower the sauce?

<ponders>

Think you can fit a filet in an overnight UPS package? :p

I looooove sushi! lol....california rolls and inari tonight, and only so-so quality...if I was feeling better, there's a great place downtown...reasonably priced, and everything under the sun there to order...mmmmmm....<drools>

of course, but what do i get from all this? I have to cook it, make the sauce and ship it.....hmmm........not a good deal for me......*s*
